Not a Filipino baked goods pro, but the pandesal was quite delicious! I got the cheaper day old batch and it was still nice and soft. Loved that little layer of filling that comes with every bite inside the ube & pandan pandesal. A nice little touch. Service was decent as they knew what their pricing was as I didn’t experience what some others stated, luckily. However, I did find it a little pricey, but would always consider any baked goods a treat! A very nice addition to centerpoint mall! Great job overall! I’ve been invited last Summer for the Grand opening but I didn’t make it. Now it’s Fall, by surprise I saw them being featured @blogto and @omni news and today, I did gave this Famous Filipino Fusion Bakery a spontaneous visit on Halloween so I can give myself a treat and not a trick. Anyway, I really want to thank the staff of Tinapayan for accommodating my pastry tasting. It was exactly what they’re advertising, the twist in every Filipino bread that makes them stand out, from Ube/pandan/velvet pandesal, the super cheesy ensaymada with Ube halaya filling, Spanish bread roll and cassava with cheese filling and some specialty beverages like taro Ube halaya bubble tea with tapioca and pandan bubble tea with brown sugar, etc. All I can say, it was super delicious and I did drive all the way from Scarborough to check it out and even drive back all the way to Markham so I can share this amazing baked goods with my family. My whole Tinapayan experience was beyond my expectation because this is another level kind of bakery working their magic in promoting our Filipino culture with its unique taste and creativity. Can’t wait to come back again so I can slowly try everything what they have to offer. Overall, a very friendly environment with one of the Best customer service. I’m just another happy customer that wants to come back for more.
One day I went to the bakery to buy their Ube Cheese Bread but at that time they're sold out so I tried their Ube Spanish Bread and the flavor is on point. I recommend both of their UBE based bread.
The actual name of the bakery is rather long: Tinapayan and other baked goods. Tinapay means bread in Filipino, but perhaps non-Filipinos may not know this, thus I suspect the longer name which explains what else they offer. They specialize in different kinds of Filipino breads such as flavoured pandesal, pan de coco containing coconut, and Spanish bread rolls filled with custard. Their bread is baked fresh. There was a generous amount of ube cheese, and creamy pandan paste in the respective pandesal rolls. Although I enjoyed the flavours of ube cheese and buko pandan, perhaps because of the generous amount of filling, they were a bit sweet for my taste. Although also sweet, hubby and I enjoyed the pan de coco, as perhaps the texture and nuttiness of the coconut offset some of the sweetness for us. They also sell iced coffees, iced teas, bubble tea, gulaman at sago Filipino brown sugar flavoured drink with tapioca and agar or seaweed based gelatin, and halo halo Filipino dessert crushed ice dessert often made with a mixture of ingredients such as sweetened beans, coconut jelly, ube, and condensed or evaporated milk; $11.99. Unique offerings are also available such as ube oat milk smoothie and ube cheese smoothie. I didn't get a chance to try any of the drinks as they were minutes from closing. Despite this, the staff were friendly and helpful in answering any questions I posed of them. Definitely recommend checking them out!
I dont think ive ever tried filipino sweets but on the way back from the gym we stopped here and bought a few things. They were all very delicious. Its a little overpriced for me but we got a few things we thought were fair and we weren't disappointed at allFood: 5/5
- We went to Congee Queen and I was super curious when I saw that sounded like a "Filipino Bakery" and yes... unfortunately, it's wayyyyy toooo pricy for the quality and quantity of the bread they are offering. Good packaging though [ so that's what you are paying for ] - I was so exciting to taste the "biko" and "cassava " they said FUSION , okay then... Fusion can be a good thing. Unfortunately, the taste is more of the sugary side - the biko was super sweet and "hard" on the top and the whole first time experience was not really great at all. Advising Filipino bread/delicacy fanatic to just go in any Seafood location, you will find more worthy of your $$$. - The expiration says September 21, I bought it over the weekend September 11 , the biko was expired on September 13th - Monday ‍ - BAD FIRST EXPERIENCE! Can we have "0" for the rating then???
I got the Ube Breadsticks and Pandesal. Both were so dry, the outsider of the ube breadsticks were overly sweet and wet for some reason? And the "Bread" part was so dry and disgusting. The Pandesal was softer but still dry. There are many other filipino bakeries near by do not go here.
Overprized and disappointing! I walk in because it was just beside the restaurant that we had dinner today. I thought there was a mistake on their pricing, package of 8 ensyamada is $14.99 and there was another package of 8 ensaymada which was price for $21.99! I got the $14.99 to try expecting something special with maybe pineapple inside but disappointed that it was just plain with margarine and lots of sugar on top! I don’t recommend thos store! I would rather go to Alminz or Harina, freshly baked goods and very reasonable price!
I initially have 5 stars for this review 3 months ago. Today I went here to buy red velvet pandesal and boy was I disappointed. I was going to purchase a pack of 8 pandesal with a price tag of $4.49. When I got to the counter to pay, the attendant said it’s $25! I said well it says $4.49 and he just said someone put the wrong price. Mind you this is right after they opened on Monday afternoon with two packs of red velvet left on the shelf both with a tag of $4.49. How would that be a mistake when it probably was made over the weekend and nobody complained or pointed out the price was wrong? If I wasn’t paying attention I was just gon tap my card and go. So if you want to try this place, confirm the price before you pay. You might get charged a higher price than what is on their packaging if you’re not paying attention.
I've tasted a lot of their pandesals but my absolute favourite is their spanish bread, ube ensymada and red velvet pandesal! It's not too sweet and is so soft and satisfying to eat. I've also tried their pandan bubble tea along with many of my family members and we were all impressed. I highly recommend their products. They're always coming out with new things and I can't wait to try them!
