Not your typical moon cakes during Mid autumn festival, but chewy, stretchy and glutinous dessert rice cakes! We enjoyed how they weren’t too sweet and come in SO many flavours. They’re made fresh as well which is why they’re all so stretchy! We especially loved the magwort rice cake with soy bean powder as it was a very aromatic tea flavour! They range between $6-$10 each. Check out @eatwithjessandjohn for more local eats!
Not many options today Easter Sunday but that’s okay. I got the soy bean glutinous rice cake. The price was good for such a big batch. The cakes are chewy and flavourful … Next time, I must return for other flavours
This is my first time trying rice cake I ordered red bean glutinous rice cake and osmanthus rice cake Never tried an authentic korean rice cake before, but I can say that this rice cake tastes good for person who do not like over sweet foods. The red bean is not sweeten, and the osmanthus has a light floral smell with medium sweet taste. Both are sticky in texture. You will like it if you like mochi.
I'm so sad that they had to close down their Downtown and Scarborough locations, now it's harder for me to get my hand on rice cakes! Here's a review of the things I've tried, hope this helps: My absolute favourite is the osmanthus rice cake because it has a light floral taste and i love the texture, it's firm, bouncy and chewy -- it's like biting into a bun but chewier. The red bean glutinous rice cake is also really good - this one is sticky & softer, the outside is coated in ground red bean that's unsweetened and it's filled with a pumpkin paste that's not too sweet. Their salted egg yolk & pork floss mochi is the best! I love salted egg yolk and it definitely had a lot of filling. The peach mochi was very refreshing, it's filled with cream and chunks of peach. I didn't like the pumpkin rice cake because there was no hint of sweetness at all and it didn't taste like pumpkin, it just tasted like plain chewy dough. The black bean glutinous rice cake was ok, I didn't like that there were whole black beans on the outside, I would've preferred the beans to be grinded into a powder like the red bean one.
Really delicious if you're into the rice cakes. They have a variety of flavours but are almost always out of the Oreo or other types. They have Oreo Ferrero Roche mochi as well as other flavours. I definitely recommend this place for a good non sweet dessert or as a gift. Presentation was executed nicely.
Omg their pumpkin rice cake is sooo good, perfectly chewy and bouncy and not overly sweet! I personally really like rice cakes and these just hit the spot for me. Highly recommend this place, plus the employees here are super friendly
Ordered a red bean matcha and strawberry daifuku mochis, both had sour whipped cream fillings .. Red bean fillings was also sour, with absolutely 0 hint of matcha flavour. Threw both out cause I didn’t want food poisoning
I’ve never tried Korean Rice Cakes before so I was excited to give them a try! Due to covid19, they only allow takeout and dine in has been closed off. They have a variety of rice cakes to choose from which can be more savory or sweet. The staff was very informative and told me which options are best for what taste buds, so I decided to go with the Black Bean Rice Cake! Overall, I can say this is a nice healthier alternative to other snacks as I honestly didn’t find it to be overly sweet, but more subtle. The rice cakes were chewy and soft, but I probably should’ve warmed it up beforehand as they got cold to be even chewier IG: Ayenomz
This is my first time tryingg Korean rice cakes. I recieved them from a friend and thouroughly enjoyed them. They were fresh and had a really great chew on them. What I appreciate about them the most is that for a dessert they are not crazy sweet. They pair well with a warm drink as well.
Finished dinner in the North York area and decided to get some snacks to take home. I heard of this place before but never been, so I decided to visit. A lovely, clean, and bright place located right on Finch and Yonge serving many different Korean Rice Cakes! Super friendly staff! After I told her my first time, she patiently explained each one. I ended up picking up a few plus some daifuku which is like mochi! Once I got home, I started to eat them and these Korean rice cakes were so delicious and chewy! So fresh! My fav is the black sesame! The smell of the black sesame is just amazing! Highly recommend to come grab a few boxing home!
