It's a minimalist location. More of a park with heritage to experience. It's changed over the years. There used to be more totems but things get old and totems are supposed to degrade over time. It's great that our indigenous people have a place to display their heritage. I always enjoy seeing the display here. I hope it continues.
Easy walk to, right beside museum and empress.
It is located near Royal BC museum behind in Douglas Street. There you can find totem poles from the provincial museum's collection. Recommended if you travel with kids
What a great collection of amazing Indigenous artwork! There are several totem poles of various designs all within close proximity to one another. If you're in Victoria, you should take the time to walk through the park and check out these totem poles!
Beautiful carvings available to all as you can walk around these totem poles and admire the work and meaning they have as they represent different tribes and their people, animals and a spiritual connection to nature. You have to look up to see the detail of the carvings and the height of the cedar tree reminds us of our place next to Mother earth. Very humbling indeed.
Interesting poles, some slightly phallic in design
It's a nice little park. I wish they had some more educational matter regarding the totem poles, their significance, and origin.
Nicely preserved totems.keep up the good job.
So well kept here and is well preserved.
Very small. Neat to stop for a minute or two and admire the totem poles/artwork as you are walking by or to a place. I happen to prefer that native American or Canadian I suppose style above all others that I can think of. Not worth a special trip, but a nice asthetic to "walking the streets of Victoria".
