Story

Make this KOA your headquarters to experience the natural beauty of nearby Lake Superior and the region's attractions. Go rockhounding at open-pit amethyst mines. Explore 130-foot Kakabeka Falls and Ouimet Canyon. Relive area history at Fort William Historical Park, a re-created 1815 trading post complete with costumed natives, trappers and traders, and at the Centennial Park 1910 Logging Camp. KOA's 90 acres of spruce, birch and poplar shimmer with color in autumn. Sites are tucked in the trees and in wide-open sunshine. Families enjoy the driving range, mini golf, heated pool, bike rentals and catch-and-release trout pond. Hayrides, ice cream socials and other planned activities add to the fun in season. Free Wi-Fi is available. Pets are invited to the off-leash park. Shop the campground store for local amethyst gifts and jewelry.

We stayed here on a road trip further into Ontario. We arrived just after ten and the staff nicely escorted us to our site and checked us in. After setting up the tent I had a very nice shower. Their facilities were very nice. The reason I'm giving it three stars is because the camping spots are literally right next to each other. There is no privacy or anything, and when people are talking you can hear everything. Take my review with a grain of salt, because I like remote unserviced campsites. This is not that. We just booked it because of the late check-in option, leaving early in the morning. We didn't get to utilize any of their services other than the showers.

Great, friendly staff. Nice pool and splash pad. Awesome bathrooms. Good playground for kids. Kid friendly activities planned on weekends. Pet friendly. Store was well stocked with gear and took American currency. WiFi works in the store. Spotty around the grounds. Sites were fairly small, but manageable. Mini golf was poor. Probably homemade, poorly tended. Don't waste your money golfing. Solid 4 for a place to pop up your camper for a few days, especially if you'll be out exploring the local sights.

Clean and well kept, courteous, accomodating staff and very family oriented. Free coffee, heated outdoor pool and laundry. A great stay! What was to be 2 nights was extended twice! Noted previous comments about privacy... we stayed on site T42. It was very private if that's what you prefer.

Very nice campground if you like a full service experience. Everything was super clean and the owner was very friendly. I'd stay here again.

This place is apparently only family oriented. Had trouble at nighttime after 11pm having a fire and story telling. The woman across the road from us came over crying saying that we were way too loud and waking up her kid which was apparently crying though we did not hear it. Then when the guy Kelly, whom takes care of the place at night came to talk to us, he didn't listen to our side of the story at all, interrupted us and instead threatened and insulted us (he didn't even sneak up on us on foot to verify the claims of the incredibly emotional woman). I assure you this was not drunken rowdiness, we're a bunch of rock climbers exploring the tbay scene. There are no rules posted, no "family oriented" description on the website, nothing to say what guest expectations are, and honestly we dropped a fair amount of money on THREE sites as they wanted us to as opposed to the two it would have taken to fit our group. Morale of the story is if you expect this to be a standard camping experience with a campfire and many laughs after dark, go somewhere else! I will give it 2 stars though as in regards to the amenities provided they were on point. If only they could have resolved this situation better.
