I enjoy this nature getaway more than the waterfront. Less people, more nature. I did run into a black bear here one night... Smaller park area, but it's a nice spot year round. Picnic area: Cemented picnic tables with roofs overtop
Beautiful place to stop and explore, fish, picnic with family.
Nice and quite place for fishing and for a nice evening walk.
Nice little park near the shore, only issue is it needs a trail connection under the bridge to boulevard lake. It is a tiny route otherwise.
Nice place for relaxing beside the lake, watch the grain ships fill up.
Sometimes there are pelicans resting here in the summer. The water is a bit swampy when stirred up by waves but the park is clean and it's nice to walk along the river on the rocks. The sign boards are interesting and informative. Don't climb on the big old boat on the shore because there are a nest of yellow jackets in the roof and they can really let you know when they don't want you around!
A small and good park. Mainly for fishing and just get some good vibe looking at flowing water and Lake Superior. Rest rooms are available. It is som what isolated from the regular transit road ways. Quite and good. Everything was kept clean. Some isolated/abandoned or old ships and boats are found in the park.
Gorgeous rapids and sight line to the Sleeping Giant. Peaceful to watch the waterfowl and listen to the water rushing behind you
Nice place to sit and relax and think also can be some good fishing.
The first pic is from the shore it's the Sleeping Giant under a blanket of haze.
