The new park is super cute, loved hanging out in the rope hammock. There is train tracks that run along the trails that make the perfect candid photos. Great place for nature walks & lots of wild life.
Beautiful park, large grounds for walking, snowshoeing, biking. River goes through it. Old log cabins and wagons. Road equipment is interesting.
This should get 5 stars just for being so close to my house. How have I been ignoring this place that is pretty much my back yard? I went in the evening when it was cool enough for a big dude to go out on an extended walk. If it is a hot day though, there are a few good spots to get in the water along the walking trail. Excellent place for hiking, biking, tanning or swimming. There was a yoga session going on in the field. In the winter time there is a big hill that is great for family sliding. All kinds of people doing all sorts of activities at Centennial Park.
There are some really nice trails in Centennial park, thunder Bay! Many scenic views as well! We went as a group and did 2 trails a short trail and a long one before heading back home. All the trails were properly marked and it was barely busy which I loved.
Best dog park of any I've been to. It's nice to have a series of wooded trails along the rivers' edge to walk your dog along. The dogs and their owners are friendly and the majority of them have good social skills with one another ... I'm back to just talking about the dogs, though I do find the owners friendly as well ;o
We loved the trails and the playground! Everything was perfect! Nature, old tractors and log cabins brings you back into the past. Beautiful area with great fun for the whole family!
Great place to walk with your dogs on and off leash as there is a designated off leash trail, or just go for a walk in general. This is also one of ways to connect to the mountain bike trails that make this area flourish.
I just love taking my dogs walking there! Not only are there Great walking trails, but things to see while you walk! I love all the old machinery and log buildings you can go inside with all the vintage bunks n kitchen etc! Wonderful hill to go sledding on in the winter and animals like ducks, rabbits, etc for the kids or adults to enjoy seeing! Nice big playground for the kids to play in! Just a really family friendly place!
A great spot for almost any trail-related activity. There are trails on both sides of the river. The trails on the parking lot side of the river start off as an "off leash" zone and continues along the side of the cliff face that skirts the river. I would not reccomend this area for people who get easily turned around, fear heights, have bad balance, or don't like being greeted by dogs that are off leash. The other side of the river across the bridge at the end of the parking lot is an "on leash" zone and has a lot more family/disability friendly trails and attractions. This side of the river also has a decent network of bike and skiing trails once you cross under the highway. Both trail networks eventually lead to trowbridge and beyond if you take the right paths.
Breathtaking views year round, and miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking. A good amount of the trail is right next to the creek which makes for easy access for taking a shallow dip.
