Thistle Fish & Chips

Absolutely hands down one of the best Fish And Chips restaurants still in operation. The staff are so pleased the food is always delicious!! I love the notes they make on the take out bags-so sweet. KEEP UP YHE GREAT WORK.

The Halibut is amazing so flaky and perfectly cooked. The fries were good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Also received lots of vinegar and tartare sauce on the side! Wish they had side salads to order instead of fries.

I don't eat fish so my review is only about the chips. My husband says chips from Thistle is as close as it gets to "real chips" he's from UK in Burlington. I've never had british-style chips before but regardless, I like their chips!! Best eaten with malt vinegar in my opinion. If you get them as take-out, they always write nice/funny quotes on the paper bags which always brightens my day.

The staff was very polite and cooperative but the food was not the best value. The fish and the chips both were not crispy. The ambience was old and smelly. Looks like the carpet is old or smelly. They could remodel the whole place, looked very old.

Good fish and chips and a pleasant dining experience. Haddock and Chips seems to be the trademark here. The fish is done with a very light batter but lacks a fully coating - the fries are fresh and decent but need a less saggy taste. Putting the fish directly on-top of the fries seems to alter the taste. Staff is wonderful! A little expensive.

Been going for over 10 years. Delicious fish and chips - sometimes I switch chips to sweet potato fries. Their fish batter is very light and crispy Their chowder and steak and mushroom pie are also yummy. Staff is super friendly and service is quick. Tip: Check the times as they close earlier than most restaurants open for dinner. Monday to Wednesday- 11:00am to 7:00pm Thursday- 11:00am to 8:00 pm Friday- 11:00 am to 9:00pm Saturday- 11:00am to 7:30pm Sunday- Closed

We had fish and chips, my husband for the first time. He was shocked at how huge the portions are. Amazing quality of fish! Great fries even. Stuffed afterward. And on top of that outstanding service, Shawn was incredible!

There is nothing to complain about this place. I’ve always loved coming here for Fish and Chips, and still one of the best I know of. Their service is always great, and the fish is always exceptional; perfectly battered, perfectly fried. I try other places, still come back to Thistle.
