Shanty On The Shore

What a cool experience!! Shanty on the Shore is located next to the water, with a beautiful view on the water. The service was great and quick and the food was delicious. We ordered the Lobster bisque in the Bread bowl, the Seafood platter with mac and cheese and the fish tacos. Everything was savoury and fresh, they truly know how to do seafood!!! The whole decor is sea related which makes for a fun evening.

Had excellent food and a good price. Staff is friendly and courteous. Lots of seafood to choose from to eat. The lunch specials are great. If you get a chance to stop in and you are looking for a great view of Lake Champlain and we'll made seafood, stop in. As always if you enjoyed my review, hit the "Like" button. Thank you. Had the famous, and delicious, fish and chips. Delighted to have curly fries! Also had the lobster bisque, yummy. Drank the thirst quenching ice tea. Loved the nautical atmosphere. Staff were friendly and professional. Didn't need to eat dinner, stomach was full all day! A definite recommendation.

I went to this place for lunch during my visit in Vermont. The resturent got a very good atmosphere and ambience. Most of the food options are seafood. I ordered clam chowder and calamari for appetizer, and fish for main dish. The food tastes is not really great. I would say they need to improve a lot on tastes for keep customer. However, I’m only giving three stars for the service as it was good. The place is located very close the lake and have parking in the back.

Delicious seafood restaurant right on Lake Champlain. Slightly high priced, but if you want a great seafood dinner, it's worth the price. The maple ginger salmon was very unique and tasty. The homemade Mac and cheese was super creamy. The broiled seafood dinner was delicious too. Overall great dinner.Food: 5/5

Pretty good food, clam chowder was very good. Got my order wrong, so waited a little extra...not a big deal, but would have been nice to have it correct. Prices are a little high, but all resturants are that way now. Nice seating and very clean... just not my favorite

The food is okay. I had very high hopes given the great reviews, but was disappointed. The service was great though! The only item I enjoyed was the fried calamari.

Unimpressive and not worth the cost. Although it overlooks Lake Champlain, the whole place has a cheap Long John Silvers vibe. Plastic cups and paper napkins are the norm. Considering the location and prices you would expect first class service in a more refined setting. The $16 Shoreside Mary will get you an 8 ounce drink over filled with ice. During my visit I requested the surf and turn option but was told it was unavailable with the bacon. Halfway through my meal my server was swapped with a different one but then changed back again. The shrimp scampi was quite awful and came with no sides despite what the menu says. Lemon overwhelmed all the other flavors, it seemed to have sweetener of some kind and the noodles were over cooked. Also, for a state that take pride in its dairy, there wasn't even a hint of butter in this recipe. Overall, I would avoid this place in favor of better choices. They really have no clue what they are doing.
