This was my first time at The Wooly Pub and it was amazing. My wife and I were looking for a family owned restaurant with good reviews. Well, The Wooly Pub came up on the search and we decided to give it a try. What a great decision it was. We wanted to seat and enjoy their awesome patio or terrace, but unfortunately it was windy and chilly for our two-year-old son. We were given a table inside and it was great as well. Our food were delicious and we enjoyed very much our meal and the place itself. Their craft beer selection is awesome. We will definitely come back again. Fully recommended
So happy we were able to get a last minute table. Lovely atmosphere, the inside dining areas are nice and the outdoor back patio looks great! The staff was very friendly and helpful and they have a fantastic beer selection. We enjoyed the wings and the poutine was excellent. Would definitely go again!
One of my best friends, my daughter and I enjoyed a late lunch on their patio recently and we had the BEST time! We really enjoyed the fun, professional and attentive service we received by Ed and Adele. Our food was delicious and soul satisfying. I had the fish tacos which were yummy and the BEST sweet potato fries and iced tea I have ever had! We totally felt comfortable in their patio and appreciated all the changes they had made to ensure everyone's good health and safety. We left there smiling and feeling like we had just spent a delightful afternoon with longtime friends! Thank YOU, Ed and Adele and all the hard working staff for all you do. You are THE BEST! I highly recommend this restaurant and am excited to return soon!
Lovely place. The staff checked up on us very often. Clean and fun atmosphere. Food was amazing and the root beer was a nice touch. I'd recommend it.
Recommended: this was a great local place and you could tell the people knew each other well. If you want a quieter atmosphere don't choose a Sunday. Check the busy times on their review. The food was excellent. We had a roasted squash and beet root salad and pickerel and fries. The service was friendly, fast and efficient. We would have tipped, but we honestly had no extra money. We felt terrible. It would be wise to make a reservation. Be prepared to search for parking on the city streets. We will be back for more. Thank you!
Food was good, although you may want to check the prices as we felt they were a bit high. This is relative and personal. I like to factor in food, atmosphere and quality interactions when looking at cost. Overall, I would say that the atmosphere was not unwelcoming, but it was not welcoming aside from the one waitstaff, she was friendly. For example, we were not greeted with a smile and “welcome to our pub!”, but rather "do you have reservations as we have reserved tables for lunch..." so that implied what?? There was no one in the place when we arrived and well into our meal when people started showing up. And even when people did show up there was plenty of room. I wonder what the real intent of the front of house guy’s question/comment was for and reason for it. We got the impression of pretentiousness. Also, there was some music playing, but it was turned down low it was very quiet in there, so the whole experience just felt 'off'. I think three different people came to our table to ask how things were, so yeah, just kind of strange and if there was no coordination among the staff. Maybe there is new ownership, and they are getting a feel of things and have not got into their groove yet. If you like a quiet and muted atmosphere and decent food, then I think it would be a fine place to visit.
Great spot with great food and friendly service. Not surprisingly, this is a classic place in Guelph. Nicely done!Food: 5/5
We came on a Wednesday in early November for lunch. It was not busy. The place is quite large inside, divided into rooms as a restored old Victorian home. Cool decor and art throughout. Our server Haley was super helpful, friendly and efficient. We tried the chicken Caesar wrap, the Birria like beef on a bun and the roasted beet salad with a side of chicken. Portion size is quite generous. Flavours are exceptional. Especially like the ability to choose "half salad - half fries" as my side. The fries were some of the best I have had and are apparently made in house. The side salad came with a house dressing that again was one of the best I have had lately. We can't wait to return to try more items at this amazing restaurant.
As ALWAYS- Atmosphere was amazing. Service was great. Drinks were plentiful and delicious. Burgers-meh. They were quite dry and we felt that we needed to force the last bits down. Some left theirs. But- the fries were crispy and very good. Fish tacos and nachos were the star of the night. Very, very good. Also- a suggestion to have a better selection Of deserts. We really wanted something especially those of us who had the burgers and we got one of each. Very small to share and did not hit the spot but we didn’t go to the Wooly for dessert so that would not affect us returning. Dietary restrictions: They had a good selection of GF, Veg and Vegan options.
Great food. Everything our table ordered was exceptional. Server was very friendly and explained everything well. When the salad I had ordered they had run out of their house dressing they offered to make a different dressing for me or sub out the salad. The new dressing was amazing! Not to mention they are a carbon neutral pub! Highly recommend checking this place out
