Texas Bobby, my Dad, who originally lived in Whitby before moving to the States has come home to Whitby and now lives at Taunton Mills.nTaunton Mills is a welcoming retirement home that promotes community living and focuses on encouraging life purpose for the many residents as well as providing top notch health care.nBobby lives independently with supportive care while living through the stages of Alzheimer’s.nHe is understood and supported by staff.nnRosemary and Sharon are exceptional in their role, they were patient, followed up with me over the last 6 years while we planned a smooth transition to living at Taunton Mills.nI highly recommend them!nAmanda, Amy and Diane supporting staff are caring, kind and gentle with their approach with seniors. The nursing and PCAs are well trained, reliable and very good at their jobs.nWe have the utmost confidence in the care my Dad receives.nAlzheimer’s is a challenging disease with daily struggles that need kind understanding people as staff to care for them.nTaunton Mills is that residence!
We had to move our parents into TM in May due to complex medical issues. Did we do the right thing? We were very concerned about making this decision on their behalf. It has been 2 months now and we feel that this was very much the right decision for our parents. They both have dementia. They feel safe and secure there. The staff are very patient and kind and have formed good relationships with them. Dad loves the food! It can be tricky to find meaningful activities that people with dementia can engage in, but the staff are currently working with us to see how we can improve their quality of life. Any questions or concerns that we have had have been handled in a timely manner by our co-ordinator Alysha Holland. This transition was incredibly stressful for everyone in our family and I'm glad that TM was there to make it as seamless as possible. Thank you!
MY MOM REALLY ENJOYS IT HERE AT TAUTON MILLS- SO MUCH ACTIVITIES , THE STAFF SO FRIENDLY And Always Looking For The Elderly. I ESPECIALLY WANT TO DO A SHOUT TO AMY- SO SO FRIENDLY AND VERY LOVING AND KIND TO ALL THE RESIDENTS- SHE IS AMAZING.
My parents do enjoy living at Taunton mills I am happy that I’m involved to advocate and voice their opinions! As most seniors they don’t say much or like to voice their opinions. The elevators haven’t been working to full capacity for over 2 years I have waited up to 20 minutes for an elevator. Also they just upgraded to Rogers ignite and even though the residents were assured nothing will change all the music station that were a part of the previous package were dropped and the residents are to pay $50.00 extra a month to be able to have the same services before the ignite was put into place.With my parents who are 86 and enjoyed talk radio big band stations have to pay extra I really think this is ridiculous and this quality of life has been effected. They pay over 5k a month to live there there and who ever agreed to go ahead with this plan didn’t have the residents in mind.
