Not that great… burger was edible but these cheese fries are a little crazy. I’ve been scraping cheese off for five minutes and still can’t see the fries. Pretty much inedible goop. Could have been good if you could still taste the fries and get some crunch. Please put less cheese! I liked the menu a lot, execution just wasn’t that great for me. :/
Loved it. A nice cozy place, and the staff are professional and friendly. The prices were fair, and the food was absolutely amazing. They have a jukebox so you are able to play customized music too. Would go back for sure.
Stopped in at The Thirsty Rhino for lunch after hearing that they have one of the best burgers in the city. We seated ourselves and looked over the drink menu. Happy Hour drinks ordered we proceeded to review the food menu. We ordered the Jalapeno Popper Burger and the Baba Looey Burger. The bar has a great vibe with plenty of TV's which would be great to watch the game! After a short wait out came our lunch. The Jalapeno Popper was exactly as advertised, a fire grilled chuck patty, jalapeno cream cheese, jalapeno relish, thick cut crispy bacon and garlic aioli. The Baba Looey came with fire grilled chuck patty, cheese, guacamole, home made sweet corn relish, red onions, lettuce and Valentina sauce. Both burgers came with sides, one order of fries and another order of onion rings. The burgers did not disappoint. They are assembled with just the right amount of toppings so that it was not falling apart with the first bite. They were very tasty and I would put it up there as one of the best. Fries were good and I would recommend the onion rings. The only disappointment was the hard core of the tomato on the burger but in fairness it is January and really great produce is hard to come by. Overall it was a great meal and we will definitely be back to try out many of the other menu offerings.
A nice little neighborhood pub The menu is a little bit limited, but the food is absolutely AMAZING! The Thirsty Rhino serves some of the best burgers in Edmonton Some of the burgers have very unique and unusual toppings, such as the Charlie Brown burger which has peanut butter as one of the toppings I was actually reluctant to try it at first. Sounds pretty strange, but it's amazingly good! Their garlic parmesan fries and really good too! The Thirsty Rhino is also a pretty fun place! I appreciate that they have a few oldschool video games... And they even have a few VLT machines too! The Thirsty Rhino has a nice atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. This place is well worth checking out! You'll be happy that you did!
Visited for the first time today with a friend for lunch. Did not disappoint. Nice cozy atmosphere. The food was amazing. We both had different burger dishes and they were incredible, made with ground chuck. Even ordered a dish for my wife and brought it home. She was extremely impressed too. Great service as well. We will be back and will tell others about the establishment. Keep up the great work.
Checked out Thirsty Rhino based on a Facebook recommendation and was very pleased with my burger. I had the jalapeño popper burger, my husband had the OGB with just ketchup and cheese. The burger meat was very tasty, had a nice char and felt like having a burger off the barbecue in the summer. Bun was fresh and the filling on my burger was very good I would like a bit more spice/crunch so maybe raw jalapeños too?. The atmosphere is neighborhood pub’esque and was quite busy hockey night. However service was decent given there wasn’t an empty seat in the house. Definitely will be back…I have to try the fried pickles!
Mcdicks was not wanting to serve us and instead tried to get their tills unfroze. So we went to the Thirsty Rhino. It was awesome.
These guys are our go-to for wings, they are amazing every time. The atmosphere in the seating area is good as well. Overall a very nice place to eat and watch the games. The only thing I find kind of weird is where you go to pick up your food when you order takeout. You go into a back area by the kitchen, which I understand so you don't have to go into the pub, but it feels like I'm walking into an area for employees only.
Great first experience. Took a bit to get seated busy wing night, so no complaints there. Took a bit longer to get our orders taken after getting a table and drinks, but food was absolutely worth it and we were well attended to once our order was in. Definitely going again.Food: 5/5
This is a awesome place to hang out with friends, have a wicked awesome burger or meal, and have a few drinks. The burger I had tonight was homemade and probably the best I’ve had in Canada in years. I hope it’s not a one off. I don’t think it is because of what I’ve heard from other people. Service was great. They also have precautions in place for females if they ever feel threatened or unsure while on a bad date. That’s also great. Lots of tv’s for watching the games. I look forward to going back and having another super evening.
