We stayed in this hotel out of convenience as it was a short distance to the airport as we were in town for work.nnThe hotel rooms were standard.nThe service was horrible. My husband ordered food and it was delivered to the front reception and the lady did not even call up to tell him it had been delivered. It sat down there for 2 hours by the time we came down to discover it. The staff didn’t as much as apologize and put the blame on my husband. The worst service ever!
Me and my family were visiting this past weekend Feb27-Mar1 2026 I always enjoyed my stay over the months we've been there but this past visit the day I mentioned above and these rude cleaning services workers one named Rhonda was extremely rude I did mention this to others who ask if Superior Inn was a good hotel to stay at I told them my experience with this cleaning services worker. I also told the front desk I just hope they resolve this matter It'll be rude if she continued to behave like this to other people that are staying at the Superior Inn. I give this stay a 2 I do hope my next stay with my family next week will be kinder and respectful as was in the past few months.
Good:n- We enjoyed the pool/hot tub.n- Room was quiet.n- Linens were clean.n- We had a good sleepnBad:n- Lots of 2nd and 3rd hand smoke in lobby and loading area. People were continually smoking right in front of main doors. This was a terrible first impression. When front desk called to see how everything was I mentioned this. The next time we went out people were smoking in an area off to the side, but by morning they were right in front of the door again. A smoking area needs to be out a back door!:n- Rugs in whole hotel were very old and filthy, and looked like they hadn't been shampooed in decades. Rugs were not vacuumed. Garbage wasn't emptied.n- Thermostat was not working and there was no switch to rurn on bathroom fan. When mentioned to front desk we were told to just turn off the heater unit and they never did respond to the bathroom fan issue.n- I appreciate that management may have chosen to take on benevolent causes/extended stay for people in need. However they also need to do more to accommodate everyone. Normally hotel guests acknowledge each other, hold the door for each other, maybe make eye contact or say hello. I had a continual unwelcoming sense, 5 people staring at me while I struggled to get the luggage cart through the doors amidst clouds of cigarette smoke ...
Booked this hotel online..nwhen arrived hotel doesn’t have the hot tub or pool working… not advertised online that it’s broken… Only reason we booked this hotel…nno discount was offered for the false advertising.nupon entering the room it’s not vacuumed, swept. Nothing was whipped all had dirty marks all over all hard surfaces bathroom had some sort of white crumbs on the counter. Would not recommend this hotel. getting moved to another room with extremely low expectations been waiting for the room switch now for 30mins… save your moneynPhoto is how the elevator is kept
What can I say, It’s a hotel, retro pool area - best in town, lacks air conditioning in rooms during summer, restaurant is great, great people, don’t be rude to people at front desk, they are very fragile but nice. Craziest deposit you’ll pay for a room in town but for only a few hundred bucks a night and a hefty deposit, you can shelter yourself from the dangers of this beautiful city of Thunder Bay’s nigh life. 5 stars for service. Bar in the restaurant is nice too, say hi to Dale the server, very friendly guy, makes the stay at the hotel worth the pretty penny **likewise**.
