I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room is comfortable and well maintained, with a soft bed and clean, fresh-smelling sheets. The bathroom was also spotless and the shampoo, body wash, and conditioner is great. Breakfast is simple but very tasty. There is a waffle maker, muffins, boiled eggs, different types of bread and a toaster. They also serve tea, juice, and coffee. Only thing is that throughout the night I was able to hear doors closing and the shower from the next room running. I definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.
This experience was truly terrible. Our family drove back to Manitoba from Toronto and stayed at this hotel for a night. We were assigned a room on the first floor Room 118. I was already very tired, but unfortunately, the guests in Room 119 across from us started having loud sex around 10 p.m. The woman’s screams were so inappropriate and inconsiderate, as if the hotel was not a public place at all. The worst part was that the soundproofing of the room was extremely poor, so I had to endure this disturbance.nnBy around 11 p.m., the noise still hadn’t stopped, so I called the front desk to complain. The staff came quickly, but they only stood outside the door for a short while and then left without taking any real action. The disturbing noises finally stopped around 11:30 to midnight.nnI have stayed at many hotels before, but this was by far the worst experience. Considering the price was not cheap—$277—it felt like a complete waste of money.
Location is perfect, rooms are new and renovated, staff is friendly and everything is cleaned and well maintained. Grounds are landscaped very nice as well.nnCons,nnNo coffee maker in the room, breakfast is very basic no eggs or meat, sound proofing isn't very good can hear people talking, walking and water running at all hours.nnGreat place to stay for a night if your passing through.
Overall, this is probably the best Howard Johnson I've stayed at. The rooms are bright and inviting. There are no microwaves in the rooms though, which is a bit of a bummer when traveling with a child. Location is great, close to so many amenities. The rooms were quiet and there was no noise from other rooms. I loved that we could open the windows for fresh air! And the beds were so comfortable.
Although the outside of the property and the public areas seem a bit worn, the rooms are nicely updated, and extremely comfortable. We were very pleasantly surprised by our stay here, and highly recommend it for the value of the price. Would definitely stay again.
