A bustling little cafe with great sips and tasty bites! I was very happy to see some gluten free treats on the menu
I live in Esquimalt, and I'm currently in search of the best hot chocolate and work-space cafe in and around Victoria. Hot chocolate = 4/5 a bit too sweet, needs more richness and depth, but they do have options for Mexican hot chocolate with a little chili and cinnamon, and not enough places do this! Atmosphere = 4/5 quiet, good vibes, quirky. Nice place to have a conversation. No wifi though, so unless you have your own it could be tricky to work. Shawn open is available. Options = 5/5 a big selection of gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options. Nice place to stop on the way to other things, like taking a walk along the Gorge. Parking: Some free parking on the main street and auxiliary streets. Dietary restrictions: Loads of gluten free options.
I've been coming to this lovely comunity cafe since I discovered it in 2010 when I moved to Vic West. And what an absolute gem it is! The atmosphere and staff is always warm and inviting. Not only does their selection of delectable sweet & savory treats support local businesses, they're also a hub for artists and musicians in the community. Artwork is displayed on the walls and several weekday evenings they have live music and open mic. It's been years since I moved from the neighborhood but it's still the only cafe I frequently visit I hope they continue to thrive and bring joy to the comunity for many years to come! Kid-friendliness: They have boxes toys available for the kids to play with. The kids who regularely visit know where they're kept and will start playing with them as soon as they arive. Like it's their second home.
One of the worst cafes I've ever been to. Went for a walk by the gorge with family visiting, Iluka was closed so I thought we could try this place since it was close by. The second we walked in, we smelled a moldy horrible smell. I was tempted to leave immediately but I figured we could just sit outside if the coffee was at least good. Every item we ordered was horrible. I do not recommend this place at all. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Lovely cafe with tasty and coffee and hot chocolate.Food: 5/5
Very busy small neighbourhood coffee shop. Very cozy ,and the haphazard furniture makes for the unique "hippy look", punctuated with funky abstract art hanging on the walls. The coffee tasted great, so no complaints there. Service was friendly and fast. Free newspaper definitely a bonus.Outdoor seating and also entertainment a few nights of the week. Parking is a tough go.
Good coffee and food. Went to the cafe for the first time last night and I had a wonderful time there. The atmosphere is very relaxing and and it is inviting to sitting and talk with friends. There is a piano in the middle of the cafe and while I was there someone say down and started to play the piano and it made my time there feel better. I would highly recommend this cafe.
The coffee is fantastic, and so is the service and atmosphere! Only reason food did not score higher is that I would love to see them serve even more things. Still, what they do serve is very good!Food: 4/5
Nice atmosphere, love the pastries! Enjoy coming here when visiting the neighborhood.Food: 5/5
Good coffee, late etc... interesting tea selection. Some tasty pastries and other nibbles available. Local art for sale on the walls. Local musicians come together throughout the week for open stages. Everyone welcome atmosphere. What's not to like.
