The Soup Bowl Cafe & More

Pretty mediocre. BLT was fine. TBA (turkey, bacon, avocado) was cold cut turkey slices, microwaved instant bacon, and frozen avocado. Disappointing and way too expensive for the so-so quality. Tomato garlic soup was fine, but nothing special. Tried the Navy bean and ham soup as well... So gross. Basically just chicken broth packed with flavourless beans and a few misplaced scraps of pork. Took one mouthful and threw it out. This meal was serviceable and got us fed, but honestly it was pretty disappointing, especially considering the price. The service was a little bizarre. The woman who served us was nice enough, but was extremely confused, as though it was her first shift... But she was working completely on her own. She seemed overwhelmed (even though we were the only customers), and had no backup to help her. Honestly, overall just a really disappointing experience.

So the soups are not bad. Pretty average, just on soups the soup bowl would get three stars. I have been looking for a good apple cider, I thought since they listed it, it would be actual apple cider. But was microwaved apple juice. Disgusting.

Good place to stop by and have a healthy lunch, or an indulgent lunch if that's what you're after. Food is solid, though it seems to have slipped a half notch from our last visit in town several months ago. I would still check it out.

Great place for a quick lunch on the go, or a relaxed place to sit down and eat with a friend. Food is great and healthy. The staff make you feel at home. And the atmosphere if very relaxed.
