Ship & Anchor is always the move! Great patio and inside has the coolest vibes. Hands down best gluten free pub food in the city - even have a separate fryer for the Celiacs!
Food was delicious, service was excellent and the interior was really cool looking. If you're looking for good pub style food, this is it! They also have a good drink menu. Our group ordered Nachos, Burgers, Fish&Chips, pizza and more. They were all very good!
We visited on an evening in June; the weather was perfect; sunny yet not too hot. Got patio setting. They have a rich menu but we were just there to chillax and drink.nI got some guava flavour draught and I liked it. I was not hungry but when I saw the server drop off a burger, it looked so good I had to right the urge to order one.nThey have ample patio setting with nice views in the heart of 17th avenue. Inside setting is also available and looks cozy. This place is really busy so have some patience with the servers especially on weekends.
It's a bit hit and miss for servers, sometimes they're incredible, sometimes they're meh, but the food is always pretty dang good, affordable and accommodating gf, ft, v. It's a staple in the community and a quintessential part of Calgary and they always have something going on
Unfortunately the Ship has followed the trend of installing urinals way too high. The trough is correct, but you gotta lower it to knee height or lower. There really is no reason for the lip of a urinal to be any higher than that. I'm really embarrassed for them for this exceedingly poor choice, so they lose a star in atmosphere. Otherwise ship is great.
