My husband and I went to celebrate my one year being cancer free. He had the pork chops and I had the snapper. At the end of our meal the server surprised me when she brought out a brownie cupcake with ice cream. The ambiance is fabulous. Great place for a special occasion.
The service was great! The food was absolutely delicious! For an appetizer I enjoyed the New Zealand Mussels in their signature lemon garlic wine reduction served with garlic bread. For my main meal I enjoyed the Roasted Red Snapper Veracruz fillet roasted with tomato, extra virgin olive oil, mixed olives, garlic, onion, golden raisins and oregano served with side salad and baked potato. The 4 star rating is only because the ambience was a tad bit on the dark side of lighting in the area of the dining room in which I sat.
Pleasantly surprised at this place. I've driven past it forever and never went in. Made reservations tonight for dinner and the hostess was super friendly checking us in and getting us sat pretty quickly. Right after sitting at our table the waitress was quick to bring out water and bread to get us started while we looked at the menu. First of all their bread is so delicious when it is warm. They had me with that from the start. Pretty simple menu with great presentation and taste though. Ordered their Beet crostini for an appetizer and it was wonderfully made. I was not expecting it to taste so divine. For my main dish I had their plant based burger. There's only so much you can do with a plant based burger but it was still pretty good. I didn't have room for dessert but when our waitress said they had apple crumbcake cheesecake I KNEW I had to try it and man I'm do glad I did. It is the perfect blend of the two. I'd definitely go back and try some different things.
This place was good… be aware, large portions. We definitely over ordered. Food was good. I tried the baked oysters for the first time ever in my whole life. Not for me. But I’d highly recommend the goat cheese wontons.Dine in: Yes
2 stars because it was simply mediocre and did not meet my high expectations i had going in to the meal. I had the Ahi Tuna, not the best and not the worst I've had. The tuna had some silver skin running through it which made it tough to chew. There was no sear on the tuna it just seemed like it was warmed. The mashed potatoes had too much garlic and not one person at our table finished theirs. The salad was great and the sampler appetizer wad good as well.
I ordered a special dish, not on the menu, salmon with pasta in Alfredo sauce and it was superb! Place is a bit loud because there is no sound dampening. I love the architect who designed the new Shanty. The old shanty spirit lives on. Thousands of Abbott and Baxter lunches have been celebrated here. My former boss was celebrated here after he passed away at the young age of 70. Had no idea he was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor in Vietnam.
Beautiful location. A nice little outdoor area for sitting.. Good service. The inside smelled a little like manure for some reason so sat outside. Hopefully it was a 1 time thing with the smell. Food was delicious and good portions Parking: Plenty of parking
I hosted a surprise party for my mom at The Shanty and cannot rave about it enough! The event planner, Alyson, was extremely helpful in helping me bring everything together. She was also very accommodating to last-minute changes. She couldn’t be there the day of the event, but the staff that helped our private room was FANTASTIC. Sarah and Ryan were a great help before, during, and after the event. Sarah ran the room so well and made sure that everyone had a smile on their face. Ryan was great in helping me the set up of everything and they were both great with the younger party-goers. I was admittedly a bit stressed the day of, but clearly didn’t have to be because Sarah and Ryan handled everything beautifully. I can’t wait to host my next event at The Shanty!
This place is just amazIng. The food menu is quit large and varied across all palates; you are bound to find something you will enjoy if not several! The atmosphere is cheerful and decked out for Xmas!. Vegetarian options: They have vegan options. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp accessible.
Started out with some top shelf cocktails. Then we had the Whiskey Shrimp, which was so good. It was fish fry night and I had Perch, but they also offer Bluegill, Walleye, and Cod. No room for anything else. We definitely enjoyed the meal. Great restaurant, excellent service from very friendly staff, and excellent food.
