The Salted Vine Kitchen + Bar

I'll never be confused with a foody but I enjoyed some very unique and delicious food at this establishment. We drove up from Vancouver and arrived quite early for our reservation but were graciously seated. Even when we asked to be moved it was done with a smile. Everyone was quite pleasant, the service was decent, though as it got busier we waited longer and longer to be attended on. In fact after we were finished our meal, I waited patiently (with my elbows on the table) to order desert but the delay was inordinately long, so when we finally had to call on our waitress we requested the bill. The decor is is somewhat spartan and I found it a tad noisy as it got busier. With hardwood floors, and mostly hard surfaces there seemed to be a bit of an echo chamber effect. It needs some sound deadening features. I do like hard surface floors for maintenance and durability purposes but perhaps carpeting may be better, or maybe padded tables with linen table covers, but then I'm no sound engineer and maybe there is something else that can be done. But all that is me being picky, The food was great, drinks well made, pleasant atmosphere and we'll probably go back and maybe next time I'll get to try a desert, which read mouthwatering. I give this place a solid 4*

Great place to have a cocktail and some tapas. Creative and unique cocktail menu, and some nice appetizers to go with drinks, but I would recommend coming here before dinner or after for drinks. The drinks are more expensive then you pub or restaurant, but all the drinks are well crafted all have something a little different about them.

Food was ok. Way overpriced. Very small portions. Inconceivably bad service. Like to the point we were wondering if we were on one of those prank reality TV shows. Waitress would have struggled to count by twos and tie her shoes. Messed up our very simple orders about 5-6 times for a party of 6 people, and made the exact same errors more than once. Not even fit to serve at Denny's, this is no exaggeration. Manager/owner was absolutely classless and didn't even know how to serve properly himself, didn't even bother to try making things right for us, and was doing things that would be faux pas for a busboy in a roadside diner. Maybe it was just a bad night for the waitress but the managers behaviour was unexcusable in every way. I am not a picky person normally but this was something else, and deserving of a poor review.

Unique menu with top quality ingredients. The atmosphere is great, servers are well trained, with a great wine selection. Perfect spot to entertsin clients. Would definitely come back here. Big improvement for this area of downtown.

Not much for vegetarians but decent ambience and courteous staff
