Oshawa Train Station - VIA Rail

One of the newer and more modern stations, they have all the things needed at a GO station. At this station they have both VIA and GO. At this station there is very little to no good attributes on the urban development front. The station takes up a lot of land with pure parking with very limited carpool and bike parking. This station is designed for cars, they have it in beside the highway and in the industrial part of town with no good connections for other types of commuters. I like the station style and update but disappointed in the lack of initiative taken to make a more accessible and sustainable public transport

Pleasant ride from Durham College Oshawa Go to Union Station on a Sunday morning. Weekend single day pass, only $10. Plenty of parking, and a clean, bright an open train station, with lots of seating. Simple, easy access to the boarding area and train, with numerous presto ticket machines, and a convenient Shoppers Drug Mart vending machine full of pharmacy type, and other travel necessities.

Small city, south end seems a little run down, probably because of all the industry that is in the South end. The middle of the city and north sections are much more appealing to the eye. Right now there does seem to be a major amount of construction going on which makes it a little bit slow for getting around, but it's not like Toronto traffic. People seem friendlier, including drivers. I moved here 5 months ago and I am happy with my accommodations and the city in general.

I'll start by saying I'm of a certain age,I'm a woman,I was alone,and I have a "bum" leg however none of that is crucial,as it probably is similar to a huge portion of Via's riders.I took pic of my parking space between C and D I arrived back on train 55at approx.8.00pm.I asked an employee in orange gear where C and D are as it was dark,he couldn't say,,he was pleasant tho' .I went outside and quickly realized the parking lot is less than lighted,the poles with C and D were not lighted at all and I wasn't able to distinguish what letter I was near,it was scary,it was cold and rainy and I couldn't find my car with my Canada flag on it.i have taken 2 trips this year on Via,but if I'm not safe and I also felt unwelcome because of the darkness,which made me think Via doesn't care about its riders.i paid 88$ for my round trip to Belleville and I just wanted to leave everything to Via,but not my safety,I need to be in control of that and we'll lighted well signed parking is a huge part of my control. Shame on you Via,Shame on you. Via you let this rider down and I no longer expect that Via will do it's part in my safe journey,therefore I probably won't buy any more tickets,,you can check out my review of the train ride if you wish.GoodbyeVia. Trains are consistently late and sometimes you are stuck on them for hours unable to go anywhere. Great option for people who don’t have to be anywhere on time and want to pay extra when the website’s online booking system doesn’t work.

No parking after 8am. many of the parking spots have become pay spots . so the number of spots has reduced significantly. best to take the earlier trains to ensure a spot is available

There are some college kidss who have no reason to be serving here. If the owner r thinks that it's ok to go through with kids who cant really understand what a patron needs, they are never going to succeed horrendous service, very very arrogant service

Don't take cash anymore due to "covid" but you can have 1000s of people on a train makes complete sense.. cash is legal canadian tender not everyone has access to other payment methods this is a complete farce and lack of compassion.. last time I take the train

Parking lot is poorly designed and on certain mornings impossible to find a space. And of course there’s lot of open reserve spots if you can afford to pay.. Major problem for those who wish to commute.

This station is absolutely pathetic and I spent 45 minutes looking for a parking space. The parking here is beyond pathetic and they need to do something to get themselves out of a Third World mentality. I ride trains throughout the US and Canada. Do yourselves a favor. Don't use this station if you intend to park your car. This is by far the worst station I've ever used. Just garbage.
