The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Newmarket

Came here for my bday. Decor is beautiful - warm and cozy. Ordered the old fashioned and mojito . Old fashioned was amazing while mojito was very sour. For appetizers, ordered the calamari not pictured and the escargot. Calamari was a hit - crispy and not the chewy kind while the escargot was a disappointment as sauce was too overpowering. The mains were amazing and we ordered all the proteins. Every dish was cooked to perfection. I did not get any crab in my salmon dish which was the only complaint.

Got to the door and they told us we needed reservations. This from a place that never took reservations in the past. Anyway they were able to seat us. It was super busy but the staff was very attentive. Of course the amazing bread was served within minutes and it was hard not to eat it all. For appetizers we ordered escargot. Amazing. And the cauliflower crisp bites which were fabulous. They have many vegetarian options on the menu. I ordered the vegetarian meatloaf. It looked fantastic but not really a fan of the taste. My partner had the bacon wrapped steak and enjoyed it. My only complaint was the the music was a bit on the loud side for conversation. But you can not be the keg for food quality and amazing service.

Great dinner experience ! Came here for Sunday dinner, great service, delicious food and perfect atmosphere. Our waiter took care of every detail and because it was my birthday, gave us a free desert with candles!

We came here to celebrate my dad's birthday. Kristy was AMAZING!! I had a recent flare up of my Crohn's and she was able to make great suggestions for me and everything was so yummy. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers AND our meals i had the filet minion with salad pictured here. The staff was incredible with our group of 9. I was so happy to spend time with my family and it was a great place to spend our special birthday and Thanksgiving dinner. Can't ask for better service. Very satisfied.

Great flavour as always. Haven't been in 2 years and was worth the wait. So many great things to order. Amazing service from Sean L who made the experience even better. Food cooked perfectly to order, always the best lobster tail.

Ali was wonderful! Very attentive, super friendly, made our night wonderful! Suggested some great deserts and coffee. She is literally why we will continue to come back to this location. Ps, the desserts are phenomenal

Hubby & I took his dad to the Keg in Newmarket for his 70th birthday. Everything about it was enjoyable from the kind staff, the Covid protocols in place contact tracing, plexiglass extended the height of the booth, not being seated next to another table that was close as well as their attentive manner that we were celebrating a special occasion and the great atmosphere. Our server Sam was kind & checked on us regularly making sure our steak was cooked as requested and other times just to check it but it was never overbearing. She was aware of my FIL's birthday so brought out the Billy Milner pie and wished him a happy birthday. Oh have to mention that all the food was delicious! The iceberg salad with blue cheese dressing was fresh & yummy and it was so big for the salad that came with the classic meals + my steak was cooked a medium rare which is my preference. Would highly recommend the Keg at this location!

We went on Saturday November 5 for my Daughters BF birthday. Could not get an early reservation so ended up with a 9:00 one. David was our server. He went above and beyond with his Customer Service. We were very pleased and impressed with everything. My Husband ordered French Onion Soup but it was forgotten. David comped us all with Desserts. Amazing Customer Service. David needs to be rewarded with how wonderful he treats Customers.

We had dinner last night at the Keg. My husband ordered the $58.00 Rib steak. While is was cooked as ordered, it was full of gristle and tough as nails. The French onion soup while tasty, was just over half full with a sparse amount of cheese. I saw similar orders going by the looked much different. No quality control? The tuna tartare was warm. The Billy Miner pie was not frozen, almost like a mouse. I find the food at this particular location to be inconsistent. Sometimes it is very good and sometimes it isn’t. I don’t mind paying for quality, but when you charge almost 60$ for a steak, it ought to be perfect!

I have to say I’ve been going to the Keg franchise for over 20 years… Katie B at the Newmarket location has to be one of the best servers I have ever had. Actually ever had and I have been in the service industry all my life. No I’m not related. Just feel strongly that when people go out of their way to make your evening enjoyable - they deserve recognition. Thank you Katie and Keg Newmarket once again for a lovely evening and excellent food. Diane and Carlo
