Great pub. Food and service has always been good. Great wings! Had pizza last time. Don't personally recommend the bread sticks but the pizza was good.
Decent wings, a bit small… maybe they’re pigeon wings? I got three baskets to get different flavours so that's good, I guess. In any case they are well sauced and the new renovations are fantastic! EDIT: Thanks for the reply, I guess fresh is best.
It's my first at the kal in a couple of years. I was very pleasantly surprised given their frequent closures. We went there for dinner. Their nachos and pizza are very underrated. My girlfriend and I shared a small pizza and regular nachos after a day at the beach. It really hit the spot and was more than enough food for two hungry people. The Kal's kitchen in general is very underrated. They have hand sanitizer on every table and qr codes on every table for the menu. Our only suggestion is to list the prices for everything and list non-alcoholic drinks. This bar is usually the core of Vernon nightlife for folks in their early 20s. Darts, ufc, deer game, etc. The only time it gets a bit much is if they have a band as it gets impossible to talk inside since the venue is a bit small for a band. Overall, an excellent sports bar in Vernon. Staff was friendly too and let us move tables on the patio!
Went for lunch on December 20/22 with my lady friend, she wanted to take me out for a meal before she went out of town for Christmas, so we went into the pub, and ordered coffee because it was so cold outside,then we ordered our meals.. she had A Beef Dip and fries, and I had Chicken Tenders and fries & gravy, there were only two girls on staff that day, the Bar Tender, and one girl on the floor, it was Maise she was so busy that Stephanie, The bartender had to help her by delivering the ordered food to the table's, the food was great, I got so much that I had to take some home with me,another good meal at the Kal Pub...
On the Feb 3rd, I made a reservation for a patio booth and when we got there the server gave away our booth. Told another worker and she got out table back for us. But server 8466 has ignored us and our table. Few times had to wait 5 mins for ordering. Got severed raw ribs and then told the server and never got asked if we wanted something else and then continued to ignore our table. We are regulars there and never had issues with other or previous servers. Over the last month the service had fell low on the patio. We haven't been back since and really rather not leaving the kal. Love the food there.
Stopped in for lunch on a somewhat rainy cloudy day. Had the soup of the day and the tacos. The soup came with crackers and garlic bread. It was very delicious and an ample serving size. My friend had the flat bread. It was large in size and very tasty. Tried all the taco choices and they did not disappoint. Prices were reasonable and service was excellent.
It's a good place to watch a game and meet for some good pub fare. I was there meeting someone for a late lunch, but I haven't experienced the place in the evening, it looks like a great hangout!
Amazing food. The specials have always been great. And very good atmosphere. Check it out. You will be grateful.
Watched two waitresses beat up a guy outside then come back in and continue serving until the cops came in and began questioning, a friend told me one server was so drunk she kept spilling shots on her tray and would just re-pour the alcohol back into the shots from the tray and serve them. This place used to have some sort of decency but now its just disgusting and embarrassing. Maybe it was just that serving crew that was on that night but I’m not too keen to go back and try it again. Would never choose to go here anymore.
Really good food, and the best environment in town.
