The Friends of Donald Park, Inc.

I used to go to Donald Park all the time as it is typically not crowded and has a few hills. All of the trails are in great shape. The only drawback is that the park does not include Donald Rock, the most impressive feature in the park and looks like a fun rock scramble from the trail. Whenever I am in the Madison area visiting Donald Park is a must do.

Went here for star gazing and to see meteor shower organized by the Astronomical society of Madison. Great to spend family time. Make sure you come prepared to fight cold, mosquities. Bring your own chairs, mats and food. There are scenic trails if you are interested. Parking is limited so make sure to be there before sunset.

It's OK. It is extremely underdeveloped - it's just land with some trails on it. Not a lot of people go here, so you'll be alone, usually. The one thing I really wish they'd do is make the streams more accessible. If you want to walk your dogs here, they have no way to access the water, because the vegetation is really tall around the water, and also because the stream has eroded so far into the ground that the dogs can't easily get into the water if they can get beyond the tall grass. What they need is to build a couple of "boat landing" type of access points. The other thing that prevents me from giving it a higher score is that hunting is allowed here. As a hiker, that's pretty damned scary, knowing you could be shot.

One of the best parks in Dane County. Great trails for hiking, skiing and horsing; abundant wildlife; beautiful

Wonderful Park for trail riding. Easy in and out trailer parking.
