McCarthy Youth & Conservation County Park

Awesome trails. In the fall it is awesome to come hiking here. The trails are well kept and the trees are beautiful. Once the snow comes the sledding hill opens. It isn't very tall but it's still fun.

Country setting. Wide mowed trails through natural prairies, through and alongside some wooded areas is just simple and relaxing.

Other than a few mosquito during the wet times, this park is a perfect area to take a walk. It has well groomed trails that both walkers and people riding horses can use. There are lots of small birds zipping around to fill the air with chirping. Even thought you are close to a major highway and plenty of busy roads, you don't hear the traffic at all. During the hot, sunny days, I would suggest putting on sun screen since there is not a lot of shady areas where you walk.
