It’s the second time I went to this place, it never let me down! The food is fresh and good quality. The staff is super friendly, and chefs are really experienced. The price is very acceptable. It’s almost the best Japanese restaurant I’ve been to. Love it!
Love this place! Service is so kind and polite. I've come twice and got the whole fish sashimi. Always such a great experience with the freshest, most delicious fish. Also tried some rolls and a la carte sushi - big fan of hamachi and chutoro. But highly recommend the whole fish sashimi! I was not sure about it at first since they give you one kind of fish which they select, but it was delicious both times.
Amazing salmon and avocado don! Service is SO FRIENDLY AND FANTASTIC. Amazing attention today detail and customer needs. Highly satisfied and very much recommend. There's a second floor seating area.
Such a gem! A Japanese restaurant in Toronto. I can guarantee all of fish here is always fresh. I am really picky on fish and sushi. The shrimp tempura was incredibly awesome that you wouldn’t feel grease in your mouth at all. As for sushi, they have variety of choices. I especially really liked their scallops that it melted in my mouth as soon as I ate it. I couldn’t stop talking how good this place is. In sum, awesome place, good environment, nice waiters, and good suishi.
I was really excited to try this new sushi restaurant in the area but was extremely disappointed. Something happened that I never expected to happen from any sushi place - I bit into a bone in my "fish don". I'm not sure how this could happen and every bite afterwards was unenjoyable as I chewed it to a mush to make sure there were no bones. I ended up throwing out most of it except for the boneless abalone and shrimpas I had a hard time enjoying anything else afterwards. These people are obviously not trained and don’t care for quality. I could’ve choked on the bone how did they miss it?? It’s so big…see first pic for reference Also, for a chirashi bowl at $28, I was hoping for some better selection of fish rather than the basic. It’s hard to trust a sushi place after this.
Super friendly/helpful staff. The fish was very fresh and the sushi rice was top quality. Highly recommend. Thank you for having my friends and I tonight!
This place is aptly named because the spotlight really is on *the fish.* Every piece of sashimi was incredibly fresh and tender. I was so blown away by the quality of the sashimi that I was totally puzzled by everything else I had. The spicy salmon and tuna rolls in the 40-piece platter were so heavily layered with rice, and even though I knew not to expect top-shelf fish inside, the rolls seemed like something you'd find at any run-of-the-mill sushi vendor. Speaking of which, the rice in the Tokaido Don lacked acidity; it just tasted flat, almost like old, leftover rice. Someone please feel free to school me on sushi don rice if it's supposed to be that way. The ikura , scallop, and shrimp toppings were amazing, though I wish there was more of each so that the actual product would match the photo in the menu. I would come back for sashimi or fresh fish to make handrolls at home. Not sure about the rolls or anything involving rice. Side note: a man came in asking for a smaller cut of sashimi-grade fish but was met with unambiguous grumbling from the chef when the host/server relayed his request. I felt like the chef could have been a bit more tactful even if he was grumbling in a different language, or he could grumble elsewhere, just not right in front of the customer, lol.
I’ve been in love with salmon for more than 10 years, and I can definitely say that this place provides the most fresh salmon among all the Japanese restaurant. I love the creamy texture and the flavor of the salmon!! I can even feel the taste of creamy fat! Which is incredible. The chef choice party tray I tried so many like kinmedai Hamachi Chutoro not sure about the spelling? and it’s like another world. I’ve never tried these before but I feel it worth the price. I would also recommend Aburi Don in a two-person combo, the size is pretty enough for two people and it tastes really GOOD!!
Their fish is definitely high quality and fresh, with a particular shout out to their scallops sashimi or aburi style and of course their salmon.
Attended the soft opening on a windy Saturday night. The staff was incredible and made sure we were taken care of. The main take away from this evening was how fresh and amazing the fish were We dined in but they also have takeout as well as select sashimi grade fish and everything was top notch. We didn't buy any fish but heard that they will also cut it up for you. Will definetly come back for another visit!
