I've never met owners online so eager to have you come in that they make your experience very personable. It was such a pleasure meeting the couple/owners, Kyle and Lu! Kyle was very friendly and felt like I've known him for a very long time. Lu always had a smile on her face even while cooking. Hence, why the food tasted even better cos it was made with pure joy and happiness. Now, let's talk about food. At first, we were sad to find out that they were sold out of the Beef Pares cos that's initially the reason why we came there. A great Beef Pares is not easy to find here in the Lower Mainland nor it is easy to make at home. It takes time! So if you are planning to order that, make sure to call them ahead of time first or DM them through IG to find out if they have it in stock. The Tapa & Tocino lunch box were super flavourful and extremely PACKED - see attached photos. Our group do not like super sweet Tapa and this joint's Tapa hit the right spot with us - it was a good mix of the sweetness, sourness, and saltiness. The Pancit Canton was very delicious with lots of the nice common pancit flavours that reminds you of how your Lola cooks it! However, Lu's version was a bit more peppery than usual which is NOT bad at all. I appreciated it very much esp with the drizzle of the lemon! It was my first time trying the Ilocos Miki and it did not disappoint. They stood true to their advertisement that the broth is rich and the bagnet tasted super great and some were still crunchy the ones that haven't gotten soaked in the broth. I would've appreciated a little bit more garlic-y flavour, but not sure if that's how ilocos miki should taste like. I just like garlic in general lol The Chicken Mami was also great. We would have loved to taste more of the chicken broth cos it wasn't as rich in flavour. I'm pretty sure if we told them to make it more flavourful, they would've absolutely done it for us. We just had to go somewhere else and were pressed in time. As for the Halo-Halo, need I say more? I love the Pineapple extract in it! It was a twist of taste with their halo-halo. I would suggest to offer customers with sweetness level though. It was a little too sweet for my taste, but super perfect for the weather and just as a dessert of choice in general! Overall, this place was absolutely great! Would I come back? 1000%. Would I recommend? SUPER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YES! LOL be careful though, the portions are enormous! But I think that's a good thing, so you have more food to eat when you get home!
Generous portions, traditional flavours, and quick service — 10/10 will come again! We ordered the tocino rice bowl, sisig rice bowl, lumpia, sago at gulaman, and buko pandan. My only disappointment was that I was so full from the large sizes that I wasn’t able to order more food, but I’m certain I’ll work my way down the menu to try everything in the future!
We ordered the Ilocos Miki with Bagnet Toppings, Ilocos Pancit, Sisig, Halo Halo, Buko Pandan Cooler and Melon Cooler. Everything was absolutely delicious and so flavourful. If it’s your first time there you should try the Ilocos Pancit, which is one of their star noodle dishes. It’s fully loaded with a fried egg, longganisa and amazingly crispy pork belly. Not to be forgotten are the rice bowls. The Sisig is a great order if you like spicy, saucy and hearty flavours - minced pork belly, onions, chilies and a fried egg to top it! Just order a dish with the pork belly. The fat is rendered and crisped so well.
My wife and I are visiting from Boston. She found this place while we were killing time at a bubble tea shop. Without a doubt this is one of the best meals I’ve had in Vancouver. The owners were very friendly and I appreciate their suggestion about ordering the Pandan drink. It was delicious and I loved that it wasn’t too sweet. I ordered the pork adobo box and my wife ordered the palabok. The portions was extremely generous. Seriously I’m a big eater and I couldn’t finish everything. The stir fired noodles in the pork adobo box was surprisingly good as it had an amazing sauce, good blend spice and perfect heat that made the noodles outstanding. The pork adobo was also amazing. I’ve cooked adobo before but there is no way I could cook anything as good as what I’ve eaten here. The palobok was also outstanding. Highly recommend everyone to check this place out!
I recently had a chance to try out The Filipino Noodle Joint and truly a great food experience. I tried the Ilocos Pansit, one of their best seller...it was accompanied by ilovos longganisa, bagnet and egg. Also tried thier Chicken Inasal which comes with spring rolls, eggplant omelet, rice and more pansit! A real value as the food servings are big and food flavor was amazing. Totally great afternoon food experience with my kids...as they enjoyed the food!! If your unfamiliar with filipino cuisine and culture...the owners are extremely hospitable and service was awesome!! P.S.....don't forget to try the drinks!! I had the melon drink with pearls!!
Looking for a new place to try out while working in the area and found this place right in the heart of Chinatown. This place was located in the food court in Chinatown Plaza, ample parking available underground. I ordered the 'Ilocos miki with bagnet toppings'. I have to say the bagnet pork was on point, although the meat was in the soup, the meat was still crispy. I just have to add that the noodles was under prepared and I pointed it out to Kyle, the owner just for improvement next time, and without hesitation, gave me a replacement dish. I have to say the service was superb and the roast pork was great. I wish there was an option for the bagnet to be on a bed rice. I can't wait to try to the beef pares dish, something that I can compare to when I make it at home. Review for the pares to come!
If you live in dt Vancouver, try to dine-in or do the take-out in person instead of using the delivery apps. The owners are super friendly and they also have this loyalty program set up for the regulars. Their food is really delicious and the portions are generous. I really like their pandan drink too. I could drink it everyday lol I also appreciate that their food is not too salty, but is still packed with flavours. It’s hard to find Filipino food in general in dt Vancouver other than Jollibee…which isn’t the best representation, so I’m really happy to have found this place!
I just moved here and randomly stumbled across this place one day. It’s truly a hidden gem tucked away in a quiet food court in Chinatown. They serve up authentic Filipino dishes like your Lola used to make you back in the day. I’ve tried the tocino and longganisa baon boxes and they were both fantastic. The boxes come with rice, pancit noodles, lumpia egg rolls, eggplant and sauce, and the serving sizes are enormous so come hungry or take it home for later!. Highly recommend the buko pandan drink to wash it down, Filipino drinks can be a bit on the sweet side for me but it was the perfect sweetness level. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu!
Super friendly owners and amazing food! Tried the Ilocos Pancit and Beef Pares Soup and they were both so flavourful and delicious! Veryyy good portions too. Also tried the Melon Cooler and Halo halo and they were both good and refreshing. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!
Got the Filipino spaghetti with cheese and pancit with tofu, both were excellent. Portion sizes are very generous. To go containers were double wrapped to prevent spilling which was nice, they were THAT full. Definitely pop in if you're in the neighbourhood. Delicious!
