Third time back and it just keeps on getting better here. Asian fusion done right with a solid cocktail menu that have a wide range for all palate. Food was on point and flavorful. Even the simplest dish of potatoes was delicious with a truffle sauce to dip. Not a great place for vegan eaters as we had one person that left a little hungry. Overall, will be again again as the menu do change often and keeps it interesting.
Torafukus flavor combinations are so perfectly balanced and unique, I was enthralled by every new dish that came to our table. We got the spring tasting menu with duck and it did not disappoint. From the plating to the flavors, everything was excellent. I would definitely come back to try their tasting menus every time I am back in Vancouver.
We had the tasting menu and loved it !! Very reasonably priced and great variety and portion sizes. Dessert was to die for. Fish was high quality and delicious. Ambiance cute. Service great.
It was a great experience, service was great! I would recommend this as a spot to chat for a group of 2 I was there for a dine out Vancouver. And the dishes surprised my taste buds on many of the dishes. It was a nice early dinner. I very enjoyable pan-asian
I've been to Torafuku twice now. Always a pleasant experience going here. They always have a fun twist with their menu! Everything is really flavourful and unique and the staff is super nice. The restaurant is really accessible - a 5 minute walk from Main Street Science World. I went during their Dine-Out Vancouver period and they had a good selection of different dishes - so they have something for everyone's taste. My favourite dishes were the chicken wings, crispy rice w/ salmon crudo and brussels sprouts. Their drink selection was also really creative and fresh - they had fun flavours like buko pandan and yuzu! Also, if you are ever here I really recommend their basque cheesecake - it's actually really really really great :
I went there for dinner with couple of friends during the weekdays. We’ve noticed there were a group of Instagram influencers doing some tasting menu. We’d ordered three appetizers and three main dishes. The scallops and chicken wings came served 10-15 mins after we ordered. The rest of dishes came 30 mins later! Other tables were waiting for their food as well except that group of influencers. The food was great however the portion is quite small. My friends and I enjoyed the cocktails. But I don’t think it’s worth to go back again.
Decent restaurant. I would recommend not getting the omakase because it only comes with 1 entree and 1 dessert for TWO people. For 1 person, I would suggest just getting a-la-carte 2 appetizers, 1 entree and skip the dessert as it was underwhelming. My favourite was the mushroom dish and bison tar tar.
Torafuku was a very nice place. The interior was very spacious and the utensils were very organic themed. The menu was pricey though, even for happy hour. But the food was very good. We were disappointed that the tasting menu was only allowed if everyone at the table ordered it. We had 5 people, and it was $65 per person. No way we're we going to spend $325. We eended up still spending that much since each item was $20+ and drinks were $15+. If you want to come, maybe come with 1 or 2 people. Next time I might come with fewer people to make it more affordable.
We had a nice meal here. The Hot Smoked Salmon was perfectly plated with a mini pullman loaf and house made creme fraiche. We enjoyed the Brussels Sprouts dish, it came with cauliflower and broccoli as well, with crispy quinoa. The vegetables were cooked just right and not burnt. The stuffed prawn mousse in the zucchini blossom was delightful. Our final dish was Magic Mushroom 2.0 which came in a thick broth. Dessert was another story – the dark chocolate ganache was too dense and so sweet that I wish I hadn't allowed it in my stomach, the graham crust was like melamine. The service was excellent and each dish was timed perfectly. We will be back, but not necessary with friends as there wasn't enough variety of dishes for a table of four to have an exciting sharing time.
Amazing little restaurant by Science World. First, the service was awesome. All of the staff were warm and friendly, service was prompt and thorough. They checked on us multiple times, answered all of our questions with kindess. Ambiant lighting, and the kitchen in full view added to atmosphere. The whole space, including bathrooms were really clean! The unique share plates were a nice touch as well. Came here for Dine Out, and the food was spectacular. Interesting yet tasty takes on asian flavours with a great attention to detail and technique. I liked the white chocolate ganache and the magic mushroom bowl the most, but it was all good! I plan on going back.
