We've been coming here for a long time when it was called Bobby C's and even got married here. We were looking forward to the new restaurant and to see how things turned out. I really was hoping to love this place again. Disappointment was a common theme throughout our dinner. There was only 3 tables seated inside and multiple staff wandering around and zero interest in providing service, no asking to refill drinks, take away plates, generally asking how things are. We waited a long time just to order drinks and even longer for the waiter to come back and take our order. Kids drinks were served in cocktail glasses which are so not little kid friendly. Very limited menu options on their new menu. Kids meals are super overpriced for what they are, kids burgers were super dry and the fries were so over salted. Adults food was ok, the wing came out in a puddle of grease, my caesar salad dressing was brown and tasted nothing remotely like caesar, our other salad was also lacking the toppings it was supposed to come with. Probably not a place we would consider adding to our regular go to anymore. Shame. It could have been such a better experience. They really try to make the food look/sound fancy but total fail. We have very rarely ever not tipped but this was definately one of those occasions.
What was Bobbie C’s it is now “The Deck Bar and Grill “you can have parties banquets families gatherings that’s is absolutely phenomenal If the weather permits you can sit outdoors and eat your lunch have a couple beers or inside you watch a the TV if that’s like and also have a good beautiful view of the lagoon I was there today lots of loony bird s very beautiful site, lots free parking.
The staff here is great! Our waitress was wonderful. The food was good, however, the menu was a little over priced and the menu options seemed too simple, I think having nachos on the menus would be a great seller! We tried to order chips and salsa but they had run out. Also we ordered Long Island iced teas and they were far from great. Hopefully with time they make some tweaks.
My family and I came for lunch and with half our family being vegetarian, we were very limited on the menu choices. But our server was PHENOMENAL, WOW! She made us the best VEGAN pizza and pasta i have yet to taste at any restaurant so far! TARA YOU WERE AMAZING!!!! Never had such great service before! Wish this restaurant all the best! The view was great. Hopefully they get some more vegetarian/vegan options as we live literally 2 min drive away. GOOD LUCK!
My wife and I went for a date night. I had a beer - there are some local selections but otherwise it is standard fare - and she had a bellini, which she reported was delicious. She had the Deck burger and I had the fish bucket. Both meals were excellent! Good flavours and appropriate portions. The fries and caesar salad were also great. Minor complaints were the chairs on the deck weren't comfy and the service was adequate - not outstanding but not poor. We sat on the patio, which was very large. It was a fun place to sit and the atmosphere was good. Overall we enjoyed it, we'd go back, and we recommend others try it.
Went there for some wings. I was told they are large by staff. I was so disappointed as the wings were tiny. Tasted good with the bbq mango sauce. Caesar salad had more than romaine in it which looked nice but did not taste right and some of the lettuce was brown. Loved the truffle fries. Service was great until we were told to pay as our server’s shift was over. He stated that someone else will come and check on us for more drinks. Never saw another person.
The restaurant is very nice and all the staff were friendly. Our waitress was amazing. The food was good, especially the pizza. I only gave it 3 stars because the serving sizes for some dishes were very small and very pricey for the amount you got. For example, the bruschetta was $8.75 for 3 small pieces, it was good but not worth it for 3 pieces. The pasta dish was $19.00, when it came to the table we thought it was a kids size pasta. It didn't come with garlic bread or salad for that price. Most of us left still filling hungry.
I have lived in Port Darlington for almost 10 years and loved visiting Bobby C’s, especially in the summertime. I was very excited to try out this new place called The Deck. Within minutes of being there, it turned into the WORST service I have ever had in my entire life. The two stars are ONLY because the wings we ordered were delicious and the sauces we chose were very flavourful. The wait staff have NO idea what’s going on and are not attentive to customers whatsoever. Our food came before our drinks and our server seemed to not even realize that she had forgotten the drinks. We had to ask for waters TWICE, and when the server finally remembered, she only brought ONE. We had to wait another ten minutes for the second water! The patio, where we were seated, had maybe 10-12 tables in total and there were AT LEAST 6-7 servers working. There was no excuse for the poor service we received. My boyfriend had to go to the bar to request a second round of drinks, as we were sitting with empty plates and empty glasses for at least 15 minutes without anyone even noticing us. At the bar, we were told that our server would be summoned, but at this point we were so angry. Luckily, the server was actually quick with the bill and we left in a hurry. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Will not be back. So disappointing.
Always loved the former Bobby C's, it was a cozy place with personality. My wife and I were so looking forward to a new and great experience out on the Deck, however the seats have a lot to be desired. They are made of metal and if you try to sit back in the chairs your butt will sink through the big gap at the back so you have to sit up and forward. What a shame all that money spent on seats that are so uncomfortable. The table is very small and very flimsy we were sitting at a two seater table. The seating was quick but after waiting for some time no service I just lost the love for this place and we left. The Deck has no personality and very bland. I only hope the new owners take this feedback good and bad and make some changes. I would love to revisit and try it out again but please send all those table and chairs back to the supplier and get something that your customers want and add some personality to the place, be creative as this place so deserves. wow...the service that we received was just beyond horrible. Wait staff and managers were circling the patio with food, clearly unsure of who ordered what and their table numbers. It took over 50 minutes to get our appetizers and they gave us the wrong food 3 times! The waitress offered to take one appetizer off of our bill for the inconvenience, but when it came time to pay she couldn’t recall saying that and we ended up paying for it. After we finished our appetizer, it took nearly 30 minutes until our waitress came by again to clear the table and take our food order. 3 of our 4 mains came out 40 minutes after ordering- it then took another 20 minutes for the 4th meal to arrive. Many tables around us were also very unhappy with the service, food and general disconnect between the kitchen and wait staff. While the view is nice, the food and service were definitely not worth it... I would like to give this place another chance as it’s a nice destination in the summer. Hopefully management can get things in order at The Deck.
