We have visited this establishment for the last 12 years while snowmobiling with friends and family, it makes for a great stop before going back to the cottage. Food was always fair to good with service on the slower side but acceptable. After last nights unfortunate experience we will not be back. Service was non existent and food was nothing short of disappointing, it is unfortunate that they are unable to get a professional to take over and run the restaurant properly, I wish them and anyone going the best of luck!

I have never wrote an Internet review before. But my experience here pushed me to. I came in and waited 45 minutes before it was acknowledged by wait staff that I wanted a menu. After I got the menu I waited 20-30 minutes for my order to be taken. A table of 10 came in after me by 45 minutes and had their food before me. I am currently waiting for my food still right now. I arrived here over an hour ago and there are only 4 tables in here. You'd imagine they could handle the number of customers with 2 servers. I watched as the table that got their food ahead of me called the server over to say that the chicken fingers were still raw on the inside. Then they were told one of their meals was forgotten by the kitchen staff. I watched as the table swooned in horror after they watched the chef run his finger through his hair and then keep grilling. Nice staff that weren't trained well enough and there were far too many issues for the period of time I was there. It was kind of unbelievable how bad everything was as a whole. Update: I received my food and it is great. That is the only solace here.

Can't go wrong here. Great spot to warm up after a walk in the woods or a snow mobile. Great home made food. Super tasty. Good happy service

We spent the day in the Halliburton Forest yesterday so decided to try The Cookshop for lunch. We had 4 adults and 6 kids in our party. The service overall was good although the waitress seemed quite unsure of herself. She was a nice kid though and was obviously doing her best. Unfortunately when it came to the food, things took a downhill turn. Out of 4 burgers, only one was cooked properly. One was burned to charcoal and 2 were undercooked. When my husband sent his burned burger back the waitress looked at it and asked what was wrong with it. The question did not go over well. How a burger that badly burned was even put on a bun and sent out is beyond me. The burgers were between $10 and $15 each but do not come with fries. My Reuben was supposed to be "piled high with corned beef" but had one slice of corned beef so was essentially a sourcroute sandwich. I realise that this is almost the only convenient place to eat near the forest but that shouldn't be a reason to serve substandard food! I will add that the chicken fingers and mac n cheese the kids got were fantastic and the gravy and fries were very good as well! Quesadilla was just ok as they were soggy and drippy and were made with what tastes like very processed chicken.
