This is my second time here during the day and I really like it. The staff are nice and friendly, service is right, not too quick as to feel pressured and yet quick enough to not feel anxious. The meal was great and the atmosphere perfect. This was a summer visit, my last visit was a winter visit on a snowmobile and it was full of riders which was great. Some non snowmobilers may find it not to there liking. For me, on a boat or a snowmobile, this is my lunch stop when I'm in the area!
I ordered onion soup and fish and chips. I got my entree before the soup. The fish,1pc, from the entree was narrow on the ends and a little bigger in the middle. It was over fried and when I cut into the middle it was all batter that was burnt, I could barely see any fish. I had no choice but to return it and ordered a different dish. My guest had already finished her meal before I got the soup which was watery and barely had any cheese in it. $13 for soup and $22 for fish and chips, I expect an edible meal. The server did not charge for the soup because they forgot to serve it. That was nice of her. Sorry to say, I have no plans to return. You certainly do not get value for the price. Also the online menu is old. The soup was $3 cheaper on that menu.
Lots of good choices; burgers half price today, butter chicken, pizzas; great salads...and latest happy hour specials! Highly recommend 3-5 pm!
We have been trying takeout pizza at several places in town and have been disappointed by the crusts and condiments on the ones we’ve tried. McKeck’s pizza was spectacular and tasted like real Italian pizza. The thin crust was perfection, the sauce was plentiful and I’m sure home made and tastes like marinara sauce to me. We asked for mushrooms and lots of mozzarella cheese and they delivered outstanding quantities at no extra charge. If you’re looking for a taste of Italy in Haliburton get a pizza from McKecks.
Stopped in here for dinner, and was excited for a small town pub experience. The staff were nice and we were seated and served without much delay. The food is the main drawback. The burgers and wings seriously lacked flavour. The fries were good but the gravy is terrible.nnThere’s a shortage of options in general but given what you pay, I’d expect better. The washrooms are really nice and clean though.
