The Broadview is a favourite East End brunch place. Today we had chia pudding and waffles. Both were delicious! The staff were so kind. The ambience is cool and relaxed. The table next to us were picking out their favourite decor pieces- the lamps and wallpaper.
I attended an alumni event here so not the usual food and service etc. Lovely large open space. Yummy snacks and hors d’oeuvres. Acoustics were reasonable for conversation. It was a lovely, well catered event, and I would probably return again to try the regular menu if I was in the area. Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures. Next time! Parking: Green P lot 045 across the street.
3.5 stars. Standard breakfast fare; nothing particularly exciting. In my opinion, home fries were under-seasoned, eggs benedict tasted too citrus-y, sausages were dry, and the coffee seemed stale. A beautiful open space with a large bar and natural light to enjoy a meal though.
This is the bistro of the Broadview hotel. We had brunch here during our stay. They have standard brunch items on the menu like eggs benedict as well as newly popular brunch items such as shakshuka and chicken and waffles. We had the Broadview Breakfast omelette style and the Shakshuka. Both were quite good. The berry bowl was a decent size bowl filled with strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. It seems as though they don't get fresh pastries on weekends: We were there on a Sunday and by then they were out of pastries except for one butter croissant which was stale. The waitress was kind enough to not charge us for it when we mentioned it was stale. We arrived at around 10am and were seated immediately. By 10:30am the place got pretty full. The space is quite airy and has an abundance of natural light.
Food was great but 2 of us went for a business lunch at noon and finished at 2pm. Took 30 minutes to bring our salads and another hour 1:30pm to bring our mains. We both had meetings after 1pm so it was awkward as we had to scramble to find people at work to take the meetings. There didn’t seem to be any focus by the servers to update us on the food or adhere to a reasonable timeline. There were 2 other tables of 2 so it wasn’t busy with 2 servers. I’d go back for a social meal but not for a work related meal. Everything took wayyyy too long.
Ambiance is excellent. Food always tastes wonderful. I had the spinach and mushroom eggs benny and my husband had the Broadview Breakfast with sunny side up eggs. Service is attentive and staff are super friendly and quite funny when engaging. $29 bottomless mimosas are quite the hit as well -- get the blood orange version as the tartness of the juice pairs way better with Prosecco rather than regular OJ.
Very kind and friendly service. We dined in for breakfast and the food was good. They seem to be understaffed? It wasn't very busy and we were seated without a menu for about 15 minutes. No complaints about the food though I would personally appreciate more options. We patiently waited about 30 minutes for our bills after we were finished eating and the staff did not come around to check on our meals or offer refills.
Ambience is nice and the bistro is beautiful. Server was very kind however it took quite a long time to receive our food and our bills. The food was delicious, but I wish we were able to get our food and bill quicker. We were cutting it very close to our check out time at the hotel, and we arrived at the bistro an hour and a half before hand.
It is located at the hotel lobby but the service is good. A good spot for friends having a afternoon chat with some snack and drinks.
Decent brunch but nothing special. Typical hotel brunch. Good place if everywhere else is busy in the area.Food: 3/5
