The Boathouse Tea Room

A hidden gem by the water!nThe Boathouse is such a cheerful and charming spot , perfect for a relaxing morning or afternoon treat. Their tea selection is top-notch, and breakfast here feels like a cozy hug to start the day. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Don’t skip the ice cream , it’s a local favorite for a reason! Whether you're catching up with friends or just soaking in the peaceful riverside vibe, this place is a must-visit.

My daughter and I went for lunch here. I ordered a breakfast with a scone, fruit, jam,muesli and some tea. It was delicious- all of it. The presentation was lov too. I neglected to take a pic of my food but it tasted as good as it looked. We sat outside and could watch the river while we ate. It was a gorgeous sunny day. The only thing I could've had more of was some shade. There were available tables inside tho and we could have changed if we'd wanted to.

This has become our yearly tradition to get ice cream from the boathouse in summer. This year was no exception! I mostly go for their blueberry cheesecake flavoured ice cream. Two scoops are too much to finish for me though .

It was such a treat to enjoy an ice cream by the Speed River on a hot summer Sunday. The Boathouse is perfectly located just off the main road, right beside the canoe rentals, a perfect spot. I ordered the kid-size pistachio ice cream, though honestly, it was so generous it didn’t feel like a kid-size at all! It's definitely worth the $5. The staff were friendly and worked efficiently to keep the line moving. Even if there’s a bit of a wait, it’s easy to enjoy it while taking in the beautiful surroundings. There is a trail and beautiful bridge to enjoy. A must-stop when visiting Guelph on a summer day!

So I went to the Boathouse with my family today and we tried the Moose mix it had mini peanut butter cups, chocolate swirl and vanilla base and also tried Banana Cream Pie. Overall, the look of the boathouse is super cute with it's pink accents on the exterior as well as interior. I'd definitely give it a solid 9/10.
