The Boathouse Tea Room

A hidden gem by the water!nThe Boathouse is such a cheerful and charming spot , perfect for a relaxing morning or afternoon treat. Their tea selection is top-notch, and breakfast here feels like a cozy hug to start the day. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Don’t skip the ice cream , it’s a local favorite for a reason! Whether you're catching up with friends or just soaking in the peaceful riverside vibe, this place is a must-visit.

My daughter and I went for lunch here. I ordered a breakfast with a scone, fruit, jam,muesli and some tea. It was delicious- all of it. The presentation was lov too. I neglected to take a pic of my food but it tasted as good as it looked. We sat outside and could watch the river while we ate. It was a gorgeous sunny day. The only thing I could've had more of was some shade. There were available tables inside tho and we could have changed if we'd wanted to.

This has become our yearly tradition to get ice cream from the boathouse in summer. This year was no exception! I mostly go for their blueberry cheesecake flavoured ice cream. Two scoops are too much to finish for me though .

It’s my first time having high tea for brunch and it’s so good! The tea smelled delicious. And so were the sandwiches and the cookies. The fresh flowers were a nice touch. The cute decor and the river view were a plus.

My guest and I went for Christmas High Tea. We were very disappointed, as the sandwiches were not what we expected. We were looking forward to the chicken & cranberry, but they were yellow in colour, due to the addition of curry powder. Very overwhelming flavour. There was an orange pesto sandwich option, which again was not expected. High tea is generally the cucumber, as was served. Also, an egg salad, a chicken salad, a ham salad, that type of sandwich is generally served. We were unable to enjoy any of the options other than the cucumber. The fruit was perfect, very fresh. The teas we chose were delicious. The scones were delicious. The wait staff was good. For the price we paid we we’re very disappointed. If I go again, I will go only for tea and scones. Or order something else off the menu. That’s what I would recommend of a visitor do.
