The Boathouse Tea Room

Had a lovely time at this high tea place. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. We really enjoyed the tea and the brunch and the service was warm and welcoming too.

The atmosphere is very cute. We came for high tea to celebrate my grandma finishing her last chemo treatment, which made the occasion really special. The food itself was delicious, although the price felt a bit expensive considering the small amount of sweet treats and sandwiches included.nnUnfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We were confused when the tip had already been pre-added to the bill, and this wasn’t explained to us beforehand. We also asked for an extra egg salad sandwich because one person at our table didn’t like cucumber sandwiches, but no one told us there would be an additional charge. We were surprised to receive only a quarter sandwich for almost $4 extra.nnI’m unsure of our server’s name, but she came across as impatient and rude when we had questions about both the automatic gratuity and the sandwich charge. She didn’t introduce herself and overall wasn’t very attentive during our visit. It honestly felt like the service aspect didn’t matter much since the tip was already included regardless of the experience.nnThe food and atmosphere were lovely, but kindness and communication go a long way. Hopefully this is something the staff can improve on in the future :

A hidden gem by the water!nThe Boathouse is such a cheerful and charming spot , perfect for a relaxing morning or afternoon treat. Their tea selection is top-notch, and breakfast here feels like a cozy hug to start the day. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Don’t skip the ice cream , it’s a local favorite for a reason! Whether you're catching up with friends or just soaking in the peaceful riverside vibe, this place is a must-visit.

I've lived in Guelph since 1990 and never really knew about this cute and lovely tea room. Highly recommend. Not a huge menu which I like. Lots of different teas, high tea is offered. Atmosphere is homey and has beautiful dishwear. Very laid back. Views are beautiful.

Great lil place for high tea, breakfast or lunch. Amazing tea options. Loved the scones. Can buy tea to bring home.
