Love, love, love everything about this restaurant. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. The food is always on point. Their menu offers a lot of healthy and locally sourced deliciousness!nnOn this Friday, we had to make reservations. It was very busy; always a good sign!nnWe had the Crispy Battered Pickerel and Chips and the Manitoulin Island Trout. Both were plated super nicely and tasted divine - there was absolutely nothing left on our plates when we were done!
Always my go to spot when driving through Guelph! Every single item we ordered on the menu was sooo delicious! I loved how they had seasonal dishes too. Their flavours were very vibrant and comforting at the same time.nnService here was great, our server was very friendly and quick with everything. He took time to explain the menu and any questions we had.nnWe came here for dinner in the middle of winter and the atmosphere was honestly very cozy! I’ve been here for lunch as well and really enjoyed how bright and inviting the space felt. They had a small patio in the back for the warmer days! And once you’re done your meal, you can check out the bookstore that’s right attached to this bistro :
This was a treat. Loved everything about it and Sarah our server was a gem. The food , people and atmosphere hit all the right notes. Pumpkin loaf to startoutstanding, Manitoulin Trout for the mainManitoulin is one of the most beautiful places you’ve never visited. Largest freshwater island in the world apple crumble with peach sorbet sorbet was incredibleto finish off the evening. Chef…loved everything, but I know you could up your apple crumble game for sure. BTW , great selection of beer.
Great and tasty restaurant in the heart of DT Guelph with a good selection of dishes. The trout and pizza were best to me while the other dishes were tasty too. It gets busy for lunch so do show up early to grab a table.
After looking forward to eating here and coming to treat family for lunch with my partner, I am so disappointed in the food at Miijidaa for the money that was spent. Atmosphere was comfortable, but around the table, we were all quite disappointed.nnFor starters, my food wasn’t even hot. My risotto came out at what was almost room temperature – returning it would mean having to wait for it to come back and eating after my family so I opted not to. To top it off, it was ultimately flavourless. The barley was just barely cooked and even still hard. The menu said there was roasted sweet potato, sweet potato purée, pesto, maple gastrique. The pesto just looked and tasted like green oil, there was no hint of maple, and the supposed roasted sweet potato instead looked and tasted like it had just been boiled… and to the point where the flavour had almost been boiled out of it. I also did not taste any sweet potato purée. Those around me tried it and were glad they had different meals…. I felt like I was eating plain boiled risotto.nnOne of us also had a squash soup side - it was watery and had no puréed squash texture. As well, I don’t really care so much about this one, but I think it’s appreciated to be told when a side sauce is offered and has an up charge as that’s not always the case in all restaurants.nnThe only thing enjoyed was their housemaid ginger ale. Chicken burgers were fine, fish and chips were said to be okay. I understand it’s the quality of ingredients that is key here, but with tax and tip, everything was $160 for 5 people and unfortunately, I feel bad to say, but the food was subpar at best.
