My husband recently attended a conference in St John's, and I chose to travel with him as I felt it was a great opportunity to see a different part of Canada. I didn't fancy a week in a conference hotel, so looked around the web and found the Battery House. What a find! The house itself is about a 10 minute walk into the centre of St John's. The masterpiece is the main bedroom on the second floor; five large windows provide a room filled with light and stunning views over the harbour and the city. Two other bedrooms on the ground floor don't have much in the way of views, but they are comfortable, well equipped, of a good size, and complemented with a nice half bath (toilet and sink). The facilities on the main floor are great - the kitchen is superbly well equipped, while the dining and sitting areas are comfortable and well appointed. The main floor laundry with full sized washer and dryer is an added bonus for longer stays. The high speed wireless internet is exactly as advertised. All in all, there were no disappointments with this property. If you are looking for a home away from home in St John's, I can highly recommend the Battery House.
