The Arms Public House

Not the best. I used to enjoy coming here until they changed their menu to be more traditional British. I'm not sure if they succeeded, but they aren't great for anyone who likes seafood or is a vegetarian. There is basically nothing on the menu now that doesn't include some kind of animal, such as duck or mutton. Or fried in fat from duck. Interesting. If you like traditional English food, you may like it a lot. The service was also slow, and not professional in my opinion. Maybe I'm a traditionalist in this part, but I believe everyone at your dinner party table should be served their food at the same time. Especially if there are just three of you. I've worked in restaurants, this isn't hard to do. I also watched the table across the room be served at completely different times too, and they were also just a small party of 3. I think everyone enjoyed their food when it arrived though. One friend had the Eggs Benedict, one the lobster BLT sandwich, and I had a veggie omelet (great).

The food was very good and the service was friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable and historic. The cocktails were delicious. We went on valentine's day and they had a prepared menu for the day which had delicious food. The banana, caramel, cream pie was excellent!

I literally have only ever eaten the nachos here, and they are freakin' awesome. Best in the city by far for portion/quality/price ratio. They've also got a decent selection of local brews which is a solid bonus!
