Primal Kitchen

This was our first visit. All the food we had was prepared to the highest quality and sourced locally. Great local and regional craft beers and wines. The staff was top notch and it's great to see the chef come out of the kitchen to look around the from of the house.

We were really happy with the place! Totally worth checking out. Ambiance & Decor: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Drink: 10/10 Food: 8.5/10 I didn't give a perfect score on the food but it doesn't mean we didn't like it. Food is important, but not the only thing. It was really good. We had the poutine, pulled rabbit pasta, and beef short ribs. We liked them all and it's hard to pinpoint what we thought could be done better without going into way too much detail. But suffice it to say, it was good. You know what, check it out - you likely won't be disappointed. Overall, this restaurant has a LOT going for it and you may think it's the most delicious meal you've ever had. I'm just one guy with one opinion!

I've been there quite a few times. This restaurant is very innovative and unique. I love their take on dishes and how they stand out from any other restaurant in Halifax. They are not afraid to make bold moves and I believe they are way ahead of Halifax in the culinary imagination and Haligonians need to step out of their bubble and get on board. I've tried the Bone Marrow (very rich and paired very nicely with the mustard seeds), frog legs (very moist), calamari (my absolute favorite thing so far, served with a curry aoili), Hog ribs (seasoned very well), rabbit (great dish) and a few of their cured meat. The chips they serve the with are very crispy and not at all oily.

This place is excellent. Charcuterie board is great and 35oz Prime Rib for two is absolutely delicious. Well worth a visit. Great environment and service.

We went for brunch early afternoon on a Saturday. This was amazing. This place is extremely thoughtful with its food. Not just it's local sourcing but how it's put together. The fact everything is made in house. This is food made with love. Amazing! Brunch is highly recommended.
