Recommend by a friend from my home province, not much expectation was set. Wow it was an amazing experience. All the dishes we ordered were excellent. The service was friendly, but a little bit slow. So make sure you are not too starving when you come. The rice wine was user friendly suitable for anyone of legal drinking age. My Indian friend even said it reminds him of his hometown flavour. A must visit if you are from east coast or anywhere.
Would like to give them 0 stars because of this 1 waitress but the food was good. But like most of the other reviews 1 server seems to be a problem. Taller middle aged lady who was so, freaking rude! We really did enjoy the food, the facilities are nice and clean. All the other servers where extremely nice and professional except 1. This server tried taking our bowls away with food still in them and took our recipe off the table but we where still waiting for 2 more dishes. She then proceeded to tell one of our friends who was talking to another table, to turn around because she could not walk through... even tho all the others had no issue walking by. I would recommend getting take out but would not recommend sitting down. If I was the owner of this place that server would have been gone yesterday.
Its not bad, but also it's a salt bomb to compensate for flavour. It executes the traditional sichuan dishes very well. If you're not a fan of the numbing peppercorn this will not be a good place for you to dine at. Everything is executed competently, but the wait times and staffing levels could be better but who isn't struggling with that in Aug 2022
This place was packed. I recommend getting a reservation a few days ahead if you want to dine in for a weekend dinner. I ended up waiting an hour to get a spot walking in. This place is amazing if you like spicy food - this was truly the spiciest food I've ever had in Canada. I really recommend getting a non spicy dish like rice to complement their spicy dishes otherwise you may find the food over seasoned.
The food here was amazing! It was recommended by a friend so we went to check it out and were blown away! We had the Sichuan Boiled Fish, the Spicy Eggplant, the Potato Noodles, Cold Cucumber Salad and the Deep Fried Tongyeun. Everything was so so delicious! I was a bit worried about the spicy/heat levels but it was just very flavorful and a bit spicy, nothing crazy. Service here was great too and we made a reservation beforehand as it got really busy when we got there. Definitely worth the try it you've never had food like this before!
My favourite Szechuan restaurant, if you love spicy, can't miss this one!!! Went couple of times, today's lady delivered excellent service From the interior deco to taste, all very authentic. The portion is fairly big, and the chilli is right on point. My favoirite is fried kidney and pork intestine. BTW, for those who complaints abt lot of Chilli on top, that's what authentic dishes look like, try more and you will know‍
When i got there, our server was so friendly and helpful. She thought maybe we didn’t know what to order cos we aren’t chinese so she recommended top dishes and helped me to decide! Slightly expensive but as you can see the portions are very big so you can eat the next day too. The beef really taste like sichuan. So numbing and spicy, perfect. Decor inside is nice too! Will def return to try other dishes
Very fun and nostalgic interior! Service is a bit slow and servers do need more training; I don’t think some of them know what they doing. There is one older lady server was great, super attentive and friendly. Pricing is not cheap, but comes in huge portion, so good value for money actually. Doesn’t carry a huge selection of food; we ordered 7 dishes, every dish was not bad. Ample space and seating is comfortable. I am from Chengdu, I can confirm the authenticity of their food - really good! Not too oily and salty, and mild spicy. Ingredients seem very fresh. Love the tofu fish, it sure looks ugly but man it tastes awesome! Beer is cheap! Also have large bottle of rice wine! Great place to hang out with friends!
Love the traditional Szechuan dishes, very impressed by the selections and the flavour. A little pricy but the taste is all that matters.
Authentic taste! All dishes are tasty and enticing. Most dishes are spicy and/or numbing. You can choose the intensity of the spiciness. The decor and furniture feels like you are enjoying a meal oversea.
