I am super impressed with Tempura Keisuke. First of all, it's very hard to find authentic, delicious Tendon tempura with rice here in Toronto and Tempura Keisuke fills the void. It's tasty and delicious. I ordered the Keisuke Tendon that comes with 3 giant prawn tempura, 1 Hookaido scallop tempura and a variety of veggie tempura. The tempura were prepared crispy and lightly battered that I can still enjoy the ingredients itself. In particular, I really like the texture of the lotus root. They also come with a miso soup. At $18.99 CDN, it's a very good value proposition as it's big portion, tasty, and located right at the heart of the Financial District, you can't beat the price and taste and convenience at the same time. If you like Tendon or you never tried, you got to come check out Tempura Keisuke. I would definitely come back and try its other options. Highly Recommended!
We got their Keisuke Special Tendon. The Tendon came with a variety of Tempura consisting of 3 Prawns, Hokkaido Scallop, Eggplant, Zucchini, Yam, Green Beans, Seaweed, Lotus Root and Pickled Ginger on a bed of Japanese Rice! All the Tempura were thinly battered, perfectly crispy, and it was our first time having Tempura Scallop, it was so juicy and sweet! The Spicy sauce wasn’t spicy at all but it added so much flavour to the Tempura, wished we asked for Extra! Absolutely loved this Tendon, highly recommended to give it a try!
3.5/5. Udon Tempura Review: noodles not bad, unique scallop 1 piece tempura. Made “fresh to order” about 7 minutes. Japanese staff friendly and hard at work. Unfortunately the batter is just average, shrimp tempura is nothing amazing, but the vegetable tempura retains firm texture. Priced to match “higher end” offerings in the food court, including tips makes dining here a questionable choice. $25
Looked for a random place to eat and stumbled upon this cute little place in a terminal of restaurant stalls. The food was delicious. I really liked the recommendation for the sauce as it was my first time. The tempura was crispy and fresh. Not an overwhelming menu which is nice if it can be difficult to choose something to eat. However the flavors werw great and it came with miso soup! Definitely a place I would recommend for someone looking for a quick bite or roaming around the Toronto area.
Really tasty tempura that comes with rice and miso soup. Friendly service. Pretty well priced considering the type of food and its downtown location too. You can't see it from the street but it's inside the building in a fancy food court.
Ordered the Prawn Tempura with Udon for dinner. The tempura was great! I am allergic to eggplant and the staff replaced it with another yam for me . The combo normally includes 2 shrimp tempuras, lotus root, zucchini, yam and a udon. The tempuras are freshly made for each order wait time could be slightly longer then expected. The staffs were friendly. Recommended if you are close by the area! Note that beverage cost extra.
Almost $25 for a bowl of tempura on rice and the tempura coating was very soggy, to the point where it was extremely unpleasant to eat and I had to peel off the batter. They advertised that they use a special Japanese rice, but it was over cooked and clumpy. The only thing that was good in the bowl was the poached egg. What a tragedy, I will not be coming back. Definitely don’t recommend if you don’t want to feel ripped off!
Incredibly good food and totally authentic - just from the quality of rice alone it transported me back to when I worked in Japan, everything came out fresh and warm - with an included Miso Soup! It was super hot outside so it would be cool if you had the option to choose the soup or a nice cooling salad/seaweed Ordered the Keisuke Tendon which had great variety - definitely go for the spicy sauce, that was already awesome on the rice itself! Note: It's nestled within along with a cluster of different food counters like a food court, and it's not in the PATH, but on ground level - had to hunt this one down a bit before I found it no signage from the street
Came here for work lunch. OK tempra, wonderful rice with tempra sauce and unbeatable vibe. Got a tempra rice and cold cider beer here for lunch. Really good experience. Quick service and unbeatable vibe with outdoor patio seating. If you are in the area and bored of food court, this is a sure bet.
I had the gyu tendon and it was great. I definitely liked the tempura more than the beef though. The vegetables were perfectly fried, and I enjoyed them as much as the equally perfect shrimp. Their house spicy sauce was only slightly spicy, and it didn't overpower the natural taste of the ingredients at all. The beef was good, but nothing special. Give the place a try; I would probably suggest skipping the simmered beef and go all tempura.
