I was in this restaurant for the first time and I really liked it. The place was empty, which is the plus, the staff were polite and pleasant. The food was ready in prompt manner. Steak teriyaki was the best of the best! Meat was tender and melted in your mouth, grilled vegetables was super tasty with perfect consistency. Tempura was great, perfect temperature, crunchy crust and very tender inside. The fish in sushi and rolls was fresh and good quality, miso soup was great too.
This restaurant left a great impression on me. The staff were super helpful and charming. Had my go to combo and it was FIRE. I would eat this everyday for the rest of my life. I’m planning on bringing more friends back here on the weekend. Highly recommend it : My friend had the soft shell crab and it was a favourite too, will be ordering again.
Always loved it. From Eglinton to the village and more. Gorgeous food esp for me being vegan. Barry owner is a wonderful man. Very accomplished and doing great things in and for Japan gov. A little reunion with couple of friends Stayed all day. Casual yummy place he has Vegetarian options: Being vegan I had no problem finding things to eat. Parking: Street parking as well as a large lot next door. Never a problem
Pretty good japanese food. It was tasty and service was great. Had tempura, sushi, sashimi, and sake. All was delicious There wasn't anything that really stood out though. I wouldn't travel to get here. Still really good though
Amazing!! The atmosphere and the way the restaurant is decorated is beautiful and cozy, and our server, Michael, was phenomenal. I went with my parents and we all thought it was such a great experience. The sushi was fresh with a great presentation aw well as the deserts. Highly recommend the avocado chocolate mousse
The restaurant is located in Forest Hill Village with sufficient paid street and nearby lot parking. At present, the restaurant has a street side patio. The food quality was disappointing; nowhere near the quality of the now closed Edo restaurant on Eglinton. Unfortunately, I had a mild food poisoning probably from the dressing of the salad. I will certainly not be back and do NOT recommend this restaurant!
WHAT TO TRY?? The sushi pizzas! They offer by far the most options when it comes to sushi pizza! Over five options to choose as toppings on their menu from spicy salmon to spicy tuna to other toppings like spicy scallop and butterfish and Alaskan crab! They have curbside pickup available and online ordering to make things easier and safer for people to enjoy their food. The only thing I would prefer is if the rice layer base layer is not as thick. You can ask them to make the rice layer less thick if you prefer a thinner layer too! That way, you'll enjoy a balance of toppings and pizza! LAST TIP? Right now if you order before 5 pm and after 8 pm, you get an additional 10% off! Always great to know there's discounts if there is, isn't it?
Went for Winterlicious and the food was ok. Ordered the Calamari Kale Salad, Seafood and Chicken Yose-Nabe Hot Pot, and Japanese Fruit Tart. There was a starter which was similar to a seaweed salad in a shot glass which was interesting but definitely not something that can be taken in one shot as it didn't slid out that easily. The Calamari Kale Salad was well presented but the Calamari was not sliced so it was a bit difficult to eat having it sliced or providing a knife would have been good. The Yose-Nabe Hot Pot was tasty and good to have on a cold evening but ... had Chicken? I don't remember eating chicken when I ate this dish. As for the Japanese Fruit Tart, it looked like a regular fruit tart with a matcha pocky stick added on, it was a bit disappointing. We ended up ordering Sweet Potato Fries from the regular menu halfway through the meal and it arrived with our dessert. The Sweet Potato Fries were definitely the highlight as they were light and crispy and paired well with the Mayo dip. I would recommend Edo-ko if you are planning to go for the regular menu, not so much if you are planning to go for Winterlicious.
I had an excellent experience at EDO-ko! The sushi was fresh, authentic, and high quality. The staff is well trained and even though we went at a busy time they took really good care of us. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a great sushi dine-in experience. Keep it up!
Absolutely delicious food! Wide selection of vegetarian rolls/sushi! Great patio, allowed us to sit with our dog!
