ARA is a must-try Japanese restaurant in the area - the fish they use is top notch and all the ingredients used are fresh and high quality. I love that they don’t go overboard with the amount of rice on the rolls as well as the thickness of each sashimi piece. Not to mention the most kind & attentive service by the staff. Will definitely be back for more
We were looking to go to a other sushi place near our hotel, but they were no in dining. So we found Ara which had a high score as well. We highly recommend this place. The food was fresh and the service excellent. We tried the pizza with spicy bulgogi. It was deep fried rice with a topping of spicy bulgogi. Wow! A definite try. The only slip was that they forgot the salad that was included in the combo meal and mentioned in the menu. Would definitely go back if I return to Toronto.
After looking at various sushi places, I decided on this one because of the menu. The sushi and the drinks were so good! You could taste the different flavors in each sushi, and the prices were very good for the quality. I was eating alone and the staff was so kind and welcoming the whole time.
My friend and I got the sashimi lunch set teishoku meal on a Saturday afternoon, it was very quiet. A nice variety of dishes are provided, it's like Korean/ Japanese fusion between the dishes and presentation. Fair pricing for location and quality of food. The server was very nice and made sure that we were having a good experience. Clean location for a quick bite, or to take a date to and have a long chat!
Loved this restaurant. As someone who loves sushi and has gotten a little tired of alot of the options out there this was a perfect refresher. The waitresses who served me that night were super friendly and the lady with short hair was so patient with my questions and recommendations. Not sure if its because I hadnt eaten all day before the sushi, but the cocktails were very strong and yummy, thus totally worth the price. The vibe is overall great and not as intimidating as I thought. It's very chill with music playing not too loud, not too obnoxious. Highly recommended.
A great first experience in Ara. Staff is pleasant, knowledgeable and extremely kind. I have the pressed Ebi and the the dish was well prepared with wasabi and ginger. The quality of the sweet shrimp was good, and the rice quality was good. The price point is very appealing and the cocktail menu is large. A good mid range sushi restaurant in Toronto.
Dropped by here for lunch with my boyfriend. I rarely leave review but this was incredible food and service and excellent value for the price point. Had the pleasure of chatting with Steve, the bartender/chef, who designed the beautiful bar himself and brought tons of bar secrets and recipes over from South Korea. We will be returning next time we’re in Toronto. Highly recommend any of the Teishoku plates, although everything is delicious.
Sashimi and sushi are super fresh! Waitresses are super friendly. I think the food portions are a little small and pricey. I would recommend coming during their happy hours.
Amazing presentation! Excellent customer service. It was my second time here and it never disappoints. The food it’s great quality and for sure you will be satisfied with the amount of food. I tried their maki teishoku and really enjoyed every single dish. Will definitely come back and will recommend.
Steve made it a wonderful experience for my friend and I. We had a nice chat. He was very friendly ,respectful and professional. He checked in on us from time to time to make sure if there was anything we needed. Tried the fried agadashi tofu. its got a nice juicy soft taste to it. the portion for the unagi pressed sushi was good. had a nice aroma and presentation. the quality was also great. The beef gyoza had a nice crunch to it. was not too oily . This was my second time at the restaurant and both times were great. I would recommend this place for any sushi lovers out there.
