I have no words for how authentic, delicious, and rich the food was! Ask about dishes if you’re willing to explore and try new things! I hope you enjoy the hospitality and the culture this place has to offer. Bravo I will for sure come again with an even bigger appetite to try the different dishes besides the one I ordered today. Cheers.
very cute seatings. Food was displayed beautifully. Our soup dumplings did not have any soup in it. Was very disappointing. Strawberry drink was delicious. Majority of food tasted a little bland. Not sure if we just don’t have the tongue for their food but unfortunately we won’t be returning. Thanks for the experience.
Absolutely wonderful! $50 to feed 2 people + appetizers and, of coarse, hot tea. The booth seating areas offer sidewalls with closable curtains for privacy on your special night. Above and beyond service, and the food was filling but in a refreshing way. Gotta try the dumplings
This is how a roasted half duck 20 dollars + is served and displayed initially. I know how organized the display the Plymouth teahouse served exactly, so I know this is not right and someone is taking a shortcut to fool a customer. It looks like leftovers from other tables and I don't feel that's half duck servings. And the duck itself doesn't taste fresh, like old stuff re-heated. For an average of 30 dollars per person lunch, I'm speechless. The waiter was cunning, and smiling and ran away when I tried to communicate the problem. "Not my problem, I just serve what the chef cooked". Maybe it's just simple as they just don't care about me and my business. The boss lady did apologize though. Just a sad experience for me to spend 30+ dollars to get mistreated and humiliated. I did see the next table guest received birthdays song and birthday dish, looks like a valued customer receives good service and food quality. The boss lady did apologize though. I just do not dare to come again.
If you want to live your best life you MUST eat here! This place offers a one of a kind experience. I have never been to a fancy Chinese restaurant, but since eating here, I have seriously been missing out! When we arrived we sat down at our table in the middle of the dining room, and we asked them if we could eat in the private room they said yes! I have only seen this type of dining on movies. The pork buns were absolutely one of the best. Also the scallion pancakes, king pau chicken, sesame chicken, and the fried tofu dish. I can’t wait to come back and experience this a second time!
Solid dining experience. Szechuan style cuisine was pretty okay, not the best I’ve had. Appetizers were a bit overdone and disappointing sesame balls and fried donuts. Overall good food, just can’t quite justify a full 5 stars for the price and the food.
Ever since still in college, I have been visiting Tea House whenever I could get a chance to, despite the long commute. I am a frequent visitor of this establishment probably been here 200+ times, and that speaks to how much I love this place. As a person from northeastern China the Manchurian region, I can attest to Tea House's food authenticity. A lot of dishes taste exactly like what I have had at home. I do think, however, that they cater to northern Chinese people more in terms of their cuisine type. There are other places in the Twin Cities that cater to Canton food more. In terms of dishes, I will not describe how I feel after trying each dish, because I have, over the years, pretty much tried their entire menu, so the 19 pictures I have are the only 19 I have taken. I will recommend the following: eggplant in garlic sauce , Szechuan green beans , pea tips , not sure if it is still on the menu, chive scrambled egg , family tofu , grandma's braised tofu , chestnut chicken , although quality has decreased over the years, Dongpo steamed sliced pork , Chairman Mao's favorite pork , beef with potato , serrano pepper beef , and finally, the fried milk . What I love the most about this establishment is the fact that I have seen them trying to improve their menu over the years by keeping items and introducing new items that people may enjoy. It shows genuine interest in catering to the customers' food preferences, and I am in support, especially knowing that there are many Chinese restaurants in the country that don't do such. I will highly recommend anyone looking for authentic Chinese food to give Tea House a try, or even multiple tries!
When it comes to authenticity, this is THE SPOT!!!! Tea House offers the best of the best, and I mean tasty, crunchy, warm food. I was reminded of my time in Yueyang and Weifang eating some of the dishes. The spicy cold skin noodles is hands down still my top dish when eating Chinese Meals. From the service, to the aesthetic and the food. It all adds up to be an overall 10/10. A bit on the pricy side but I did order like 9 dish’s…..
I highly recommend it! It was our first time dining here, and we did not get disappointed. Food was exceptionally delicious. Customer service was on point. A+ overall experience!
If you haven't been here yet and you enjoy truly authentic Chinese food... what are you waiting for? This place has been a go-to spot for my partner and I for over a year now and it never gets old. As far as their American Classics go, my partner orders the General Tso's Chicken each and every time we go! He says it's the best he's ever had. I've tried a handful of dishes here, but on the American Classics menu, my favorite is the Tiger Pork. Holy moly, is it delicious! The Tiger Pork is so crispy and is tossed in a tangy, spicy-sweet Tiger Sauce. This one is a 10/10 for me and I've ordered it more than 5 times now. I would also highly recommend the following: Eggplant Pork Noodles Beijing Mu Shu Pork Sesame Chicken A very safe choice for those who are used to Chinese-American classics House Spicy Pork This dish is served in a spicy, chili-oil broth and I would highly recommend it on a cold day! If you're feeling adventurous and you want to try one of the more authentic and interesting dishes, I'd tell you to try the "Guo Bao Pork." This dish was truly unique in regards to my own palate, and although the flavor caught me off-guard at first, I ended up really enjoying it! Our favorite appetizers are: Meizhou Pork Buns Pork Soup Dumplings Szechuan Dumplings Served in a spicy, chili-oil And for dessert? They have the absolute BEST Sesame Balls filled with sweet red bean paste I've ever had. I'm pretty sure they make them in house but don't quote me on that and they are incredibly soft, chewy and bigger than others I've had elsewhere. The bottom line is... GO TO TEA HOUSE :
