Disappointed as a business customer, opened an account of which a manager said that I could deposit checks into their ATM. He never mentioned any limits, never mentioned there would be times where you go through the entire process of trying to deposit money and the ATM saying "sorry at this time we aren't accepting deposits". These are DEPOSITS! What kind of bank puts up ROAD BLOCKS to a business? Furthermore, the sheer idiocy of trying to get my ATM card was also something I don't quite understand. Took several tries to get one that actually worked. I took a chance on TCF for my business account, and now I am regretting this decision.

Overstaffed and yet still takes forever to do anything. I counted six staff members and 0 other customers in my last visit and it still took fifteen minutes to just get a money order.

Tottally charging fees. You will get charged for almost everything you do from them. Surpised they don't have a deposit fee! Take your money elsewhere. It will be safer anywhere else besides tcf

I had two checks that were made out to a business stolen and deposited into a personal account by the thief at the Apple Valley branch of TCF. I asked to speak to the bank manager, to find out why the teller allowed the thief to deposit business checks into a personal account. I brought my police report of the crime with me. The branch manager said the teller accepted the checks since the thief deposited the checks into a personal account with an address that was similar to the address for the business. Basically, the manager said it was acceptable for someone to deposit a check not made out to them into an account at TCF as long as the addresses on the two accounts were similar. This is called improper endorsement and it is illegal. I got the impression the bank manager just didn't want to deal with the problem, even though I was a victim of a crime that was perpetrated at TCF bank. I wouldn't recommend this bank. Obviously, they aren't interested in helping to uphold the law.
