Located just slightly south of Ajax, Tannoor Bakery offers a variety of Manakish baked middle eastern goods  From the tried and tested laham baijiin, to the old school favorite Zaatar with cheese. If you're familiar with Manakish then you'll make your way through the menu with ease.  But what if you don't know what Manakish is, then what?! In its truest form Manakish is basically meat or cheese or grains Zaatar on baked bread. Different middle eastern cultures have different spins but in the end they all follow the same basic structure of a topping on baked bread. They are usually light and make for great on the go snacks.  There are options for meat eaters and vegans alike. I personally recommend the "Kafta and Mozzarella", it's spiced lamb meat and cheese, where the meat and cheese melt during the bake to make the perfect union on the perfectly baked bread.  If you're hosting a group you can get a platter of different styles, great for brunch, just call ahead to place an order.

A great place for nice traditional Lebanese cuisine. Call before you come to have everything ready and served in no time. Little pricy I would say but good size portions, no regrets. Absolutely great taste

Absolutely love their cheese pizza. tried the sausage and cheese pizza yesterday it was so good. Definitely a frequent flyer at tannoor for my work lunch.

Highly recommend. It is the best arabic tradional bakery in Durham, always fresh and hot.

Great little bakery and their manakeesh are top notch. I thought their labneh is one of the best I've had in the GTA. Their prices are also extremely reasonable and I would highly recommend to anyone.

***Best Lebanese Cheese and Zaatar Pies*** Finally some legit authentic delicious manaeesh aka cheese and zaatar pies on the East side.  I’m Lebanese and when I get manaeesh from this place it’s just like home. Their dough is perfect. And you can tell with the taste that they use the best ingredients. The owners used to have a bakery in Lebanon. Their experience shows. They are super friendly. I’m so happy I came across this place in Ajax from a friend who told me I needed to try it! Better than what I’ve tried in Scarborough and Mississauga. And Google maps has an error - this place is OPEN!!! Get your fix next time you’re in Ajax! I still have to try the rest of the menu. Can’t wait!

One of few places in GTA that offer good manakish  from dough to cheese.  Price is good and staff friendly.  It is a family business and they seem to be dedicated team

My go to place in durham for fresh baked maneesh and all Middle Eastern style pizzas.  The owners are super friendly.
