During the peak of the pandemic this was my favourite sushi place to get quality take out for good prices. Recently I've dined in and I've loved it. They have a lot of sashimi options including Hamachi yellowtail and the pieces are a good size. I really enjoy their special rolls and their ikayaki grilled squid.
After a movie at Crowfoot we came here and the fish was so fresh and delicious. The sushi was beautifully formed and presented. We particularly enjoyed the Toro, Spider soft shell crab and Mango Roll. The service was efficient and friendly to the child we had with us.
One of the best places for sushi in the city. Great value lunch specials and creative special rolls while also having a nice traditional menu! Love their squid as well.
Ordered a light snack to help while working. Tasted really good, and worth the price point. Takoyaki was still crispy. California rolls were good and really well packaged, but they were kind of rough and bumpy not cut smooth. Both might be a little bit too sweet for me, but I think that might be the preferred taste of most people I heard Canadians liked sugary sweet, so I still left 5-stars.
Amazing amazing sushi and special rolls!! Everything else is meh. Stick to the sushi dishes only! The tables top favourite was the Pink Lady roll red tuna, jalapeño cream cheese, with spicy mayo and unagi sauce! Ramen was super disappointing, the presentation was on point but it lacked any sort of complex flavour or spice, the noodles tasted almost like they were packaged ramen noodles or something. 5 stars for service, the service was great, and they noticed they made a mistake on one of our dishes before we could even say anything and they replaced it, server checked on us a lot and was very eager to make sure we had everything we needed. The place overall has a nice vibe, was clean and had friendly staff. We will definitely return! Only lost a point for disappointing side dishes and for two people it was a tad bit expensive in my opinion.
Excellent edamame, sashimi, rainbow and cowboy rolls, yam tempura, spicy ramen, salmon battera and green tea. Were shown to a table quickly and had courteous service. 4 stars as we waited approximately 20 minutes for takeaway containers and the bill after indicating we were done. This will not deter us from going again.
Amazing sushi night with the family. Ramen was perfect, broth tasted deep and rich. Salmon sashimi kids fav, was iced nicely, and fresh tasting, really big pieces! The Unaji Don rice bowl was pretty good, and good amount of eel and sweet pickled veggie. Perhaps the only thing that might need some improvements is the quality of rice used. Find it too sticky, overcooked in some areas. Overall, awesome service, friendly staff, amazing sushi!
I had a great time here at Takumi sushi, the atmosphere is very intimate and quiet. The sashimi is delicious, very nice thick cuts of fish. We tried the flame, mango and signature chefs rolls all of them were fantastic. I believe it says alot about the place when they use their good cuts for all their dishes. I'm sure we will find our selves in the care of their wonderful staff again soon.
We had a great meal here on a busy Sunday. The staff was very nice and food came out so quickly and yummy! Lunch special was very cheap compared to other sushi places.Food: 5/5
I tried this place because they have Aburi Sushi which I love! My favorite Aburi Sushi is in Van at Miku. This place isn’t Miku nothing is but it’s not a bad substitute when in YYC. The portions are decent and so are the prices. My favorite was their Salmon Battera Special Roll with the avocado inside and torched salmon. Had a bit too much rice and could use more salmon but overall tender and delicious. Overall a good place to go if you’re in the area.
