2-stars for the quality of the food. 3-starts deducted due to the following: 1. Menu was very outdated, cheaper places in Newmarket are using iPads now! Which made it hard to order, since they only provide you two papers and a pen, which makes you feel limited to just a couple times you can pass them a new order. 2. The customer service wasn't the best although I have no complaints! 3. As soon as I sat down, I found both Soy Sauce trays, one dirty and the other one some food piece on it still. So, not very clean with dishwashing. 4. Men's washroom was so dark with only one light fixture only for the mirror. No hand soap. *Crunchy sushi, White top mountain sushi, avocado salad recommend.

Excellent quality sushi. Great cuts of fish and preparation is excellent. The plating and care that the chefs put into each part really shows. The servers are polite and prompt with service and refills on drinks. This is my go to sushi place for a reliable quality experience. We went on a weekday evening and they were pretty busy but I didn't feel like I had to wait long for service or for my food. It was perfectly prepared and all fresh. Thank-you Taka sushi. I will be back soon.

Nice sushi place in Newmarket, fresh food and it comes quick, service was good. Lots of seats, it is a nice place for family and friends gathering.

Good food, decent service - however we were surprised with a 12% tip being included on our bills. We would have tipped more than that anyway, but it ruined the experience. Tips are not mandatory anywhere and should be removed from every service - if you want more for your product then charge more on the menu. Surprising a customer with a non-taxable portion of a bill seems rude. We won't be returning because of this. Otherwise, food quality and service were good.

Went there for lunch/dinner yesterday afternoon have been there many times before for their Lunch special - always enjoyed it we were so disappointed! First of all, there was a man laying across one booth with a chair to prop his legs up not that big of a deal what was a big deal is - as I was exiting the restroom I looked over at the sushi counter to catch an employee cook picking his nose I watched to see if he would wash his hands… he did not! The soup we got was clearly old as it had soy sauce in it and it separated within a matter of 2 min of sitting still. It was very salty. It’s normally fresh and light tasting. I asked the server if this was fresh, she didn’t give me a straight answer and asked if I wanted a new one. I said yes, what she brought me was the same bowl with hot water to cutdown on the saltiness. I didn’t eat it. The sushi that we got was also old. The rice was dry and hard on the top as though it had been sitting for hours, the avocado was brown. The shrimp tempura was clearly reheated, it was hard. And the cost for this food was almost double for their dinner menu. The picking or the nose was absolutely the most disgusting deplorable thing ever. I am so disappointed. We will NEVER go back to this place again. The health department needs to have a look at this place!

They have a good selection, food is pretty tasty. I've no major complaints. If you're looking for a solid all you can eat place for a reasonable price, this place will likely do it for you.Food: 4/5

Went on Saturday at 3:10 PM - was told last call for lunch price was 3:30 PM. Didn’t want AYCE so went a la carte. 2 rolls California and salmon-avocado for $12. 15-pcs sashimi for $13.95 - can’t beat it! Delicious salmon and tuna. I live in Toronto and the meal we had for $50 would have cost at least $70, oh yeah and you get seaweed salad & miso soup included too!! I’m deducting one star because they only give you one “star” of wasabi. LOAD that wasabi on, I don’t want to keep asking for more. When I go up to visit my friends in Newmarket, I’ll insist we go back for sushi. Service was great too, very friendly servers.

Great food, fastest sushi service I have ever seen and Great price! Will definitely be coming back!

Went for a walkin order, good pricing, the sushi was better than expected, and the order came out quickly. Pretty good food in general. Probably would go again
