Absolutely disgusting. We got delivered an old sushi platter. Never ordering with them again. Went stright to the garbage. Aurora location is much better. Food is always fresh.
Great little sushi place. The pickup was a bit slow and long, but the sushi was super fresh and delicious. And most importantly, approved by grandma who has very specific tastes and requirements!
Sushi is delicious here every time. For the Aurora location the dine-in experience is just as excellent as their take-out. I was excited to try their Newmarket location now it’s opened. I got a sushi platter for Father’s day and it came in a boat shaped platter - this was a nice extra touch! as I expected the normal size platter : I highly recommend to anyone who loves sushi. The rolls are big and loaded with large pieces of fish and avocado. It’s a little pricey compared to other places but you won’t be disappointed.
We’ve tried a bunch of sushi places in Newmarket and we have found the one. Fish is always fresh and pieces are loaded. We have been a dozen times in the past year and we have never been disappointed. BIG pieces but so delicious

Having been a HUGE fan of the original location in Aurora, I had no doubt in my mind that the Newmarket location would be nothing short of fantastic. It’s a much smaller shop, specializing in takeout orders but the quality is still top notch. My four favourite special rolls are: Orangeville, Amazing Spider, Black Dragon, and Neo Tokyo. They only use the freshest ingredients and are not stingy with them! Always looking forward to my next order
Best sushi restaurant in town. They always serve the best sushi and rolls. They are sometimes offering bluefin tuna at the same price with regular tuna. It's not normal in other restaurants so if we get bluefin tuna, we'd get lucky. Sashimi is so fresh and rolls are huge you can't bite it at once. Anyway I'd say that they are best restaurant in Newmarket!
First time order in Newmarket location. Sashimi and Sushi Platter, our family always ordered in Aurora location. I don’t know if the time is too early, and the fish supply today was not arrived. The Sashimi is obviously from yesterday, not fresh. Pretty disappointed.
Best sushi I've had in a very long time. Would have even given them a 6 star review if I could. My only regret is not having ordered a platter as I don't always frequent the area. I'll know better next time ; This is their new Newmarket location the other one is in Aurora which I had also heard rave reviews about. My 1st time trying Minami and decided on the Lunch Roll Combo J - 3 pieces Spicy Salmon + 9 pieces Orangeville roll + salad + miso soup for takeout. Spicy Salmon Roll: the size of the roll is about a 2cm radius. Haven't seen rolls like these with quality substance and not rice fillers in a long time. Even had red tobiko in with the tempura bits. Spicy-ness level was perfect. Orangeville Roll: Spicy scallop in there with tobiko, avocado, cucumber, salmon on on top with some octopus shavings and avocado. On the saucier side but very tasty and equally presentable. Excellent service. Thoroughly impressed. Can't wait to make an excuse to visit again! Keep it up Minami! I ordered a yam avocado roll and a shiitake roll both amazing so much filling the mushrooms were so good!
