Service was good, eggs were well cooked and the bacon was quite tasty. The service was good and attentive. Two things detracted from the experience for me. First, the fresh blueberry pancakes, which were huge, were not delicious. I think it is the "bread" of the pancake I didn't especially like more than the blueberries. And the menu was filthy! I was alone and thus I only know about one menu, but if it was representative they really need to spend some time getting food residues and other sticky messes off their menus.
Huge portion sizes and variety on the menu! Great experience. Highly recommend the banana bread French toast combo with eggs/bacon! Delish! Also ordered the Hawaiian 5-0 omelet. The pancakes and omelet are enough to eat for leftovers the next day.
This was the best food I've been served all year. As a professional motorcoach driver I visit a lot of restaurants. The amount and quality of my breakfast was beyond 5 stars. The plate was huge but it needed to be. I ordered the country scramble. There was ham, sausage, and bacon in every fork full. The eggs were tender and fluffy. . My coffee was hot and rich. Breakfast was served still steaming. Cheryl was my waitress, bless her heart she was working the dinning room alone. But she was fantastic. Quick, attentive, joyful. This lady knew how to do her job very well. So to the entire staff, I give this place 10 . The cooks came out to host, bus tables and assist. Great job everyone !!! Definitely not overpriced. Worth every penny.
Been coming to this place once a week lately, because the staff is so nice, the food is very good, and they're following covid protocols well. Sweet Basil has such a wide menu that I could go back every week for a year and likely not try everything. Seriously, something for whatever comfort food mood you're in!! So far the blueberry pancakes, omelets, western burger, and buffalo chicken egg rolls are our repeat faves. And yes, the portions are BIG. Be prepared to take home enough food for at least one more meal.
No idea why this place has so many low reviews, this is clearly a 4-5 star Cafe. Amazing food, albeit highly priced, very much worthwhile. I got a Mediterranean Skillet with toast and I'm amazed with how great this skillet was; best I've ever had. Some coworkers got crepes and they were extremely satisfied with their meals. Awesome Cafe for breakfast and lunch! I'd like to try a burger next time!
I ordered a waffle combo and overall the food was ok, but nothing special. They didn't even follow the description on their menu for the waffle. I have to order gluten free +$3 and ordered a specialty nutella waffle. The eggs, sausage and waffle were $20. Eggs were very basic, as was sausage, you can tell it's typical diner quality. The gluten free waffle was good, light with a good texture, but I only got bananas and nutella and my server was nice enough to ask if I wanted whipped cream. Menu says I should have nutella, strawberries, banana and pecans. Very little nutella was on the waffle. Would you pay $20 for this?? Also I wouldn't recommend if you are immunocompromised during pandemic. Booths had no partitions and were very close together. They sat everyone close together, but allowed us to request a table in the back where no one else was. One server walked around with her mask below her nose!
I've been here twice now both times for brunch. Their pancakes are ginormous! Super fluffy and taste almost like dessert. Their crepes are phenomenal as well. So much is made fresh right there in their kitchen. Homemade fruit glazes, breads, cakes, and brownies. My mom had the flatbread which was nice and crunchy. The portions are huge but great for taking home leftovers!
As of February 26th 2023, this place is closed, though Google states it's still open. I used to go here all the time, and really sad to see it gone. The food was phenomenal. Biggest omlettes you've ever seen , like as big as your head. Amazing French toast/pancake options. Always a favorite of mine. You'll be missed sweet basil!
The number of 5-star reviews on this place is a complete mystery to me. The food is dreadful. The craziest part is that our party of 5 ordered a sandwich, a salad, crepes, french toast and eggs, and biscuits and gravy, and each of these dishes was disappointing in its own unique way. There are so many dining options in the area. Whether you want breakfast, lunch, salad, sandwich, whatever, you can do better.
Was so excited to try this. Huge menu but the parfait that said “berries “ showed up w bananas. The Nutella crepe had very little Nutella and had cinnamon so my kids didn’t eat it. They never mentioned cinnamon. The burger tasted..odd. I may try one more time but I’m a little disappointed
