Time to find a new breakfast shop in the area. They continue to close their dining room and have removed outdoor tables for eating. With to-go only there is no point in stopping here to enjoy breakfast before walking around the downtown area. No one wants to buy breakfast and take it home to eat, then come back out.. The covid and "keeping staff safe" excuse would be valid if any of the staff actually wore masks, but they don't.
So I ordered a farmhouse sandwich and a cold brew coffee this morning. Sandwich was as I expected but they just gave me milk and sugar in my cold brew. 0% coffee. I spent 8$ on sugar milk with no caffeine in it. I was severely dissatisfied I don’t know if they ran out of coffee today if they forgot to put coffee in my drink but I feel scammed.see photo below for sugar milk in question. If you want coffee this is not the location for that.
This place used to be our go-to. Unfortunately, two things have now changed us to never going anymore: 1. They still will not allow anyone to eat indoors. I know during the height of the COVID pandemic, a lot of places did this, but it has been years now. I called and asked if they have any plans to start letting people eat inside again, and they said no. We used to love to bring our kids there, But it's no fun to have to either take your food home or go out and stand in 20° weather and eat. It's kind of ridiculous that they do this. 2. I have had to go gluten-free, and they don't have any options for that. I wish they had even just one gluten-free bagel that they kept frozen for people like me.
The staff at this restaurant are so welcoming and friendly. They go above and beyond to make sure you have an enjoyable dining experience. The food was also delicious and reasonably priced.
Bagels are good but the staff aren't friendly :- it feels like they just don't want you there
I bought the Half Dozen box and 1 Shmear, but I really couldn’t call it that because I didn’t get said Shmear. $13 and some change for six plain bagels.
Super helpful and kind as there'd been an issue with ordering ahead and they still honored an "order ahead" deal as well as my birthday egg sandwich. : Delicious food too! I tried the hashbrowns side this time and it was a great choice!
Bagels are small and very thin. This place use to be the best. Time to take my business somewhere else unfortunately
I walked in the door 1 minute after closing and the lady at the counter greeted me with angst. She was rude and short. I asked if I could pay for a bakers dozen of bagels as were preparing to throw away the days remaining product and she said no. Ask I was leaving I saw another woman walk in and clearly have a friendly conversation with the employee. The lady must’ve been giving the bagels to her friends or something. I was so polite as I always am so it was hurtful to see this woman be rude to a complete stranger who just wanted to get some bagels for his mom and then show unfair favor to their friend at their place of work. Been going to this location since I lived on Main Street in Glen Ellyn where I was born, 23 years later I drive from St.Charles and DePaul University just to come here.
Great turkey, avocado and bacon sandwich. Always enjoy the bagels.
