Actually really good. Didn't expect much from food court sushi but this was definitely better than the last two sushi restaurants I dined at. Sushi combo, sashimi combo, bowl of rice, and miso soup for $30. Miso soup was a tad salty but the rest was amazing. The owner was also very pleasant and brought the food out to us when it was ready.
Good sushi at a reasonable price. Will be back again for sure.
Shockingly good sushi and very affordable.
The service here is definitely 5 star. They didn't have a combo that really matched my wants and they totally accommodated me! The fish tasted great, I loved the spicy tuna rolls, and you can't beat a friendly and helpful staff. I wasn't expecting too much for this little restaurant but I got great food and I walked away very happy and full.
They need to change the name from Sushi Ya to Sushi Yum! This place never disappoints. It’s become one of my favourite lunch spots. The food is always fresh and delicious!
Fantastic veggie sushi combo- less than $8, but so good. Came with 4 pieces of a big veggie maki, 6 pieces of cucumber maki, and Inari. Wish I took a photo before I ate! You can tell I liked it :
This has been my favorite for years, and am finally writing a review! Sushi Ya easily makes the best sushi in downtown Edmonton. The service is always fantastic, fish is incredibly fresh, and the price is unbeatable. Its a small operation so keep that in mind, but If you're in a rush, you can always call in and order ahead of time. Incredibly consistent and an absolute gem.
Taste is on point, fish is always fresh. Chef trained in Japan. They're my go-to in this food court. I'm usually skeptical of foodcourt sushi - but this place is seriously amazing. Sushi is rolled right in front of you by one chef only - make sure you are not in a rush or call ahead of lunch to place an order. Rolls have a bit more rice to filling ratio, but for the price, no complaints at all. And very tasty.
Literally so good that I had to eat one before taking a picture. Their house special maki is one of my new favourites. Even though it's in a foodcourt, better than most sit down restaurants in town.
Definitely a hidden gem. Some of the best sushi in Edmonton and great prices. Sushi is always fresh. Everyone who works here are some of the nicest people I have ever met. When I worked downtown, I probably stopped here 4 times a month. Now that I no longer work downtown, I definitely miss this place and every so often I will drive downtown just for some sushi from here.
