Story

Alberta's first Japanese restaurant, serving Edmonton since 1972. To provide you with the best sashimi and sushi, we have fresh fish flown weekly from Tsukiji, Japan (the world's largest fish market), California, Nova Scotia, and the B.C. Coast.

We have genuine Robata grills specially imported from Japan. Their unique design allows for very high temperatures while keeping meats, seafood and vegetables juicy and tender.

The Mikado team is proud to include certified Japanese Sushi Chefs in our kitchen staff. Mikado features large Sushi Bars and Private Tatami Rooms to enhance your dining pleasure.

Maybe it is because I am accustomed to sushi from BC, but the fish was not as fresh as I would have liked it to be. It is also quite overpriced at that. We were expecting more due to the good reviews, but ended up not very impressed.
Mikado was the original good sushi restaurant in Edmonton. High quality sushi, and not simplified down to just California rolls. They really stand out and probably why they have been around forever. They have such good options.
I wish they had more Gluten Free options available for rolls. But the California Rolls are awesome. They do have GF Soy Sauce.
Best in Edmonton. I hadn't been there in years because I'm the only sushi lover in my family and the quality actually got even better since my last visit. Wonderful stuff.
The food was really good. Its not expensive than I thought. The atmosphere and services are really good. But remember you should make a appointment before going. Otherwise you have too wait for a long long time .
We met with friends at this place for dinner. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was a winning. The crew welcomed us with a smile and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We loved this spot very much and we will visit this place again. Highly recommended.
Great quality and selection of fresh sushi. Convenient location. Amazing service. I recommend sitting in one of the side private rooms where shoe removal is required. Very authentic vibe. 10/10 will be returning!
I enjoy this restaurant. Have been here a couple of times and the food quality is always good and fresh and there is a nice variety on the menu. recommended.
Very good service, friendly staff but the food was below my expectation. Rolls were a bit disappointing. Same for tempura. Their nigiri is decent though. I appreciate the level of cleanliness they are maintaining.
