Reviews
Sushi Aroma is fantastic. I've been here a few times and if you've eaten at any other sushi places around Edmonton, you'd know Sushi Aroma is one of the better restaurants. The food is tasty, well seasoned with all the right flavours. The portions are generous, the quality is great and consistent. The dishes are priced just right we fed 6 adults and 2 kids for around $60. But the best thing they do here is the service! I saw a review here and they said the restaurant uses an "excessive amount of rice"?? They might have misseppled filling wrong since obviously, they don't skimp out on filling look at the pictures. In my opinion, the rice layer in their sushi is pretty thin -- but that's just me. Come for yourself and see what the hype is about! You be the judge. There's a reason why this place is one of the highest rated sushi restaurants in the city.
How can a person NOT like sushi? A few weeks ago we decided to visit @sushi_aroma as I’ve heard great things about them and more specifically about their rice to fish ratio lol The rolls were good but what really ended up catching my attention was that they have fried milk on their menu. I’ve never seen it being offered at a restaurant before and it’s something I’ve been wanting to try so I did! It was slightly sweet and very light in texture. I’ll definitely be coming back for this particular item.
The cheapest sushi around Edmonton and area! Rolls are thick and meat to rice ratio is incomparable with other sushi places. Value for money Quality I find that some of the rolls are lacking flavour. Personal faves are the blazing salmon roll and milk tempura. Can’t wait to be back next time.
This place is a hidden gem and very affordable. Delicious food, great service and value! The sushi was fresh, generous portions and our server was very friendly. We'll definitely come back Parking: Lots of parking
I’m extremely confused about the ratings and the hyper positive reviews. For my fellow sushi lovers out there, I would rate this place a 2.5 out of 5. Now, sushi tastes are very subjective however, good sushi is easy to define where as with great sushi you should know what separates the “awesome!” because it is a lot of food vs “awesome!” because of the quality of rice prep and chef skills are truer of the Japanese sushi traditions. This is essentially a slightly better Tokyo Express. It doesn’t pretend to be an Izakaya or sushi must go-to. It’s ok for “quantity” and the staff are super nice. So, to all the true Sushi lovers out there not willing to sacrifice quality for quantity , don’t bother. Dry and excessive amount of rice ruins the potential for something more than average. I think this place could be much better with more attention to rice prep and rice amount.
Food and service were excellent. Fish tasted fresh and the rolls were delicious. Unagi-don was flavourful and one of the only places in Edmonton that has it and does it well! Tempura was unique because it was light but super crunchy, rare to find both! Extremely friendly customer service and super accommodating. Will definitely be coming back :
Clean, quiet and good quality! The staff are really friendly and helpful the sushi tastes fresh! Highly recommend the salmon combo !
I love Japanese food and even if I have a few favorite places I must say I'll add this to my list and place it in my top 3, here in Edmonton. For my visit it wasn't crowded but normal for the time of day but the place is very clean, staff is super friendly and courteous, food is very good, borderline excellent. You can tell a lot from simple things like miso soup. I tried different things and every single one of them was great actually. Fresh food and affordable prices too which is a great combo. It's located in a plaza so plenty of parking if you're dining in. I'm definitely coming back at least once a week or every 2 weeks at the most. I didn't take many pics but I'll share the one of my favorite item that I had, the lobster roll, amazing, the before n after pics lol. Stay safe out there and support local businesses whenever you can folks.
I'm so happy I found this place. It's the best sushi in Edmonton, and it's affordable. The folks running it are super polite and friendly. Even with takeout, you can tell they put care into what they make. Each time I've gone, they gave me a little extra. I cannot recommend enough. P.S. get the salmon combo, it's money.
fair price, large portions, quality food and tastes great. good customer service. would definitely go again
